the sometimes haphazard, never boring ...fun. why let someone else have all the fun? that's no fun. there used to be a "public service ad" about driving: look out for the other guy. when you're behind the wheel, you should always be aware of those driving around you. truck drivers. bus drivers. there are limits on how long they can dive just like pilots have rules about how much time they can fly. but 10 investigates mike deeson uncovered a big surprise. there is one group of professional drivers with no limits on drive times and it's putting you in danger. you probably don't take a lot of cabs around here. you wouldn't need to normally. but if you drive in hillsborough county, pinellas county, pasco or even polk at any given point you could be on the road with one of . serious accident when a taxi collided into the back of his car. and anytime you are in traffic with a cab- you could be in danger because of the incredible amount of time that taxi drivers spend behind the wheel, this driver didn't want his face on camera. but he told me taxi drivers are losing money when they start their work week. here's why: most of us start getting walk into our job. but every work week, taxi drivers don't start making money until they pay for leasing the cab, up to 600 dollars a week and gas which can run 200 dollars a week. and that means many taxi drivers are working a lot of hours just to make a living - more than most of us work. here's what makes hillsborough county stand out- it has the public commission - the p- t-c regulates all cabs in hillsborough county. but it has no regulations about how many hours drivers can spend behind the wheel each day. veteran drivers like randy wilson know a tired driver is not a safe driver. when i first heard about these long hours, i started asking a lot of questions. the most surprising thing i found?
