milwaukee police are investigating a second shooting on the city's near west side this week. the most recent one happened last night near 29th and michigan.police say a 20-year-old man was shot and is in critical condition this morning, after a shootout with a group of people.police were able to arrest a 23- year-old man who was with the victim.. but the other suspects are still at large. also underway on the city's north side.police say the child was found unresponsive after being put down for a nap by his mom.officials say this is the ?third two-year-old to die in the city within the last ten days. a northern illinois man accused of killing a 14- year-old girl back in 1997 is due in court for a motion hearing later today.thirty-six- year-old james eaton is accused of killing amber creek and leaving her wildlife preserve in the town of burlington.eaton faces charges of first degree intentional homicide and hiding a corpse. now to the healing in sherman park where sylville smith will be laid to rest later today. smith was shot and killed by a milwaukee police officer nearly two weeks ago. more than 30 faith leaders have promised to be there. funeral services will begin at mississippi.police say they have found a car that was missing from the nuns' home. officials say they found the blue toyota corolla less than a mile from where sister margaret held.. who's milwaukee.. and sister paula merrill were found yesterday. 15:58:47- naturally the news of her death is extremely shocking. i mean this is a person who's really like a living saint 15:58:53 sister margaret held was part of the school sisters of saint francis in milwaukee for 49 years.she returned to wisconsin often to see family and visit her fellow sisters. still no arrests following seven armed robberies in milwaukee's east side and river west neighborhoods, asking people who live in those areas to be aware of their surroundings and report any suspcious activity.police say all seven robberies happened between one and four in the morning. a 57-year-old man is in the hospital this morning after a house explosion in near madison last night.authorities there say three homes in fitchburg have major structural damage.twenty-three other homes have minor to moderate damage.both the american red cross and the salvation army are assisting. authorities have not said caused the blast. democratic
