russ feingold...in a rematch of their race six years ago. pete zervakis is live with more on how wisconsin's vote could tip the balance of power in the senate. the last three polls taken show a tight race between senator ron johnson and challenger russ feingold. if you average those three polls together feingold leads by less than three points. in total... 34 states will elect senators today. the majority of those races are considered decided, according to the real clear politics senate map. but eight to 10 are "toss up's." and wisconsin is one of them. so as democrats and republicans badger state could play a crucial role. the winners of tight contests in wisconsin... pennsylvania... nevada... new hampshire... florida... missouri... north carolina... will determine who holds the balance of power in the u-s senate going forward. we should note wisconsin voters will also see a third name on their ballot today in this senate race. that's libertarian candidate phil anderson. live...pz... independent spencer zimmerman. the first congressional district covers kenosha and racine counties.. as well as portions of milwaukee, rock, walworth and waukesha counties. if you head to the polls this morning you might see some extra observers monitoring voter and poll worker activity. wisconsin attorney general "election integrity teams" to polling places around the state.ann sterling is live with more. integrity of the election system has been one issue at the forefront of this election. and that's why attorney general brad schimel says he plans to once again send what he's calling "election integrity teams" to polling places around the state . the role of the "election integrity team" is to monitor polling sites r neering --- misconduct or wrongful denial of someone's right to vote.teams will be deployed in milwaukee -- kenosha -- racine -- stevens point -- waukesha and wau-sau. the teams also provide assistance to local law enforcement and district attorneys if requested.the justice department started sending these teams out in 2004. the agency also has deployed them in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2014. milwaukee police will also be polling place, contact your local election authorities or law enforcement. we talked to a group of people who can't vote today, yet they find themselves in the middle of this election.internaitonal students at carroll university won't be casting a ballot, but say they would if they could. students say elections here are different than from where they're from.. more controversial, less civilized yet a bigger deal. 17:17:34- hillary clinton-- have been working to get to. by this time tomorrow-- we ?should know who will be our next commander in chief. this morning, we've learned clinton and trump will be watching the results come in-- a little more than a mile away from each other. trump and clinton campaign headquarters-- are both in new york city. in wisconsin, democrats are hoping to keep a presidential winning streak alive and avenge a loss that sent a former longtime senator packing six years ago.in the meantime, republicans hope to make donald trump the first gop presidential candidate since ronald reagan, more than three decades ago, to win wisconsin. they also are working to send senator ron johnson back to the senate in his rematch against former democratic senator russ feingold.those two statewide races top wisconsin's ballot expected to vote in wisconsin today. that's according to the state's election comission. pete zervakis is live with how many of those ballots have already been turned in, wisconsin's election comission says almost 800-thousand people have already voted absentee... by turning in their ballots in person or through the mail. 128-thousand of those - where absentee voting began in late september. 88-thousand here in waukesha county.in total the absentee votes statewide are about 25 percent of the expected voter turnout. the election comission says the 3.1-million total votes anticipated in wisconsin would be about 70 percent of the state's voting age population. but turnout will vary by area. for instance here in waukesha ... the clerk told us when absentee voting began late wards to eventually hit a turnout upwards of 90 percent. remember: you'll need a valid photo i-d to vote today. head to myvote.wi.gov to check on your registration status and find your polling place. the university of wisconsin- milwaukee is making a final push to get students to the polls today.in the past few weeks -- the school has been working hard to help inform students. ann li with more. according to the latest figures -- around 23 million millennials voted for president in 2012 -- leading some experts to say they could be the deciding factor in this electon.that's why the university is fast at work in the home stretch. . for many students this will be their first time voting in a presidential election.all signs indicate students here some already have.we know more than 12 hundred students registered to vote at tables at several campus locations. students also took advantage of shuttles to go to an early voting location. the university has created a web site -- u-w-m.edu slash vote --- to provide information on registering to vote, obtaining voter id, and finding polling places.there are three polling places around campus:the urban ecology center gordon park pavilionsandburg resi the university has also set up a place tonight for students to gather and watch the results roll in. alverno college students will be working the polls ..about 50 students will help out ... some for as long as 15 or 16 hours.long as 15 or 16 hours. in addition to the 50 students, alverno will send about 15 international students to the polls to be
