Mmm. Right now . Are there things . Yes there are. I just started to try to redecorate my bedroom a little bit. To make it a sanctuary. It has been the dumping ground for furniture that doesnt have a home for a while. What is bumming me out is furniture that still doesnt have a home that im just placing it to get it out of the way. The number one that bums us out that are passed down. If you love it or use it keep it, its fantastic. Probably depends on how big it is. Depends on how big it is or if are you only keeping it because you felt guilty. I think people have a hard time getting rid of stuff that there is sentimental attachment to. My dad passed away when i was 21. At a very young age i decided i would only take small things i wanted to use or keep that i would always cherish. Instead of the big things like a things around my home i have a planter, i have like a bowl that means something. I have Little Things like that that really mean something that i use daily. And thats a good, they say if you dont love it and dont use it, get rid of it. I think small things are fantastic. The other thing is childhood mementos. My mom dropped off a whole box. He should have dumped it without looking into it. Once you start looking you are like i remember this, i remember this. Kind ofhi one of my dressers. Old books is another one. Heres what they say, keep only the ones you love the rest let go of because the more you keep the more emotionally draining it is to have that stuff around. How many College Books do you still have . Way too many. So many College Books. If i read a book and loved it i keep it. Its like i can go get it at the library if i really want to read them again. I have a great tip. From a friend of mine amanda one of the things she did while reading a book instead of just book she takes the piece of what she loves in that book and puts it in one journal. She has a journal that has all of the quotes from the books she loves. It is all in one place she doesnt have to keep the books anymore. You still can, but have you one special place for all of the favorite quotes or things that really move you. Have a journal that is special from the books you read. Hobby supplies. Just dump them. Chances are you arent going to get around to them. The last thing broken items. I have this rabbit planter that my mom bought. One of the big ears is broken off. I have to either fix it or get rid televise. I got to glue it. That and clothes that are ripped or need to be fixed i have a lot of those in a pile just waiting. I have a no cost blues. You know how it gets darker earlier it bums people out. We talked about journaling being good for your mental health. Heres Something Else that is good for you. Happiness by snuggling with somebody they care about. Oh. Dont mess up my hair. Im 14 happier now. Thats it. [laughter] or if you have a pet and you snuggle with your pet it has the same effect. My cad lay lays cat lays e it is like instant joy. Joy it is. [laughter] i like it. Other mood listers are like being with friends, gardening and singing none as as much food snuggle. Alcohol. I think you will see a lot morehouses lit this year because people have had a lot of time because the weather has been so good. With a lot of lights on. Now we just need a little powdered sugar snow. Seeing some of these beautiful you got some beautiful ones this year. Talk us through some of the colors and what is popular. What is popular always is the red. And especially, well, i will be honest with you this little white one is very popular. I didnt realize that was a poinsettia. Its a little minipoinsettia. Thats pretty. Little mixed planter something people can keep around a little bit longer. Thats cute. Doesnt look like a poinsettia as you said. Were still painting like crazy. The blues, the sherbert, the sparkles, the packsettia is still popular. Its good juju for them this week. They need it. Everybody buy one. [laughter] and then there is the minipink ones. They have been a hit. I love that. What about this, i dont even know what you call this c back here almost like chartreuse. Its not yellow, but not green. Look at that. I love that. I forgot you flock the wreaths too. Flocked wreaths, bows, little trees minitrees people can have those on the house or porch. A lot of people save their reusable or do you need to get a new one every year in they do save one, but they need to be dried in the basement cool and not damp. Most people dont save them. I saved mine from last year and it still looks beautiful, but i did dry it like you suggested. You have awesome events going on this saturday and next saturday. The first one is kid centered. We have all kin them to do for christmas time they can give as gifts or keep for themselves. We have santa coming and of course the train will be running. Good. The boy scouts are going to be grilling up hot dogs. We have demonstrations from milwaukee blacksmith is coming. We have a pianist and a organ grinder. Awesome. Thats fantastic. The following saturday, on the 26th thats when you do your taste of christmas from 10 00 to 6 00 right . Correct. We are going to do cheese little bit of wine tasting. Yum. Were going to have a good time. Thats for adults. We can put your name on it too. You do ornaments and you put your names on them . Uhhuh. That is so cute. You have fun decorations and you are right here your beautiful deer. This is gorgeous. Right. This is incredible its huge. Is that outside or inside. I had a lady make it for us. She delivered yesterday. Just right before i went home and i think we decorated him a little bit. And brought him along today. I love that bow on here. Its absolutely fantastic. That color. Somebody is going to say i want that deer that was on the show. Uhhuh. Do you have like decorations like bows and stuff like that people can buy . Cedar. We have big pinecones. Those are big pinecones. Just as decorations you mean . As decorations or we can help people put them together. Look at this. The producer goes put it next to tiffanys head and show them how big it is. Right okay its as big as a human head. As big as her head. Hard to get that big. Thats fantastic though. You decorate for people if they say can you come to my home and come up with an idea. With an idea, maybe a twist on christmas or what they had for years maybe they just want to change it up a little bit. Do something fresh. One of its things we talk about the reason that chefs seem to like it, because it is so pure in its ingredients. Its pork, salt, water and thats it. And its local too so you can feel good about that. Exactly. What are you adding to that . This is melted butter. Were going to add two eggs. Okay. Then we just have some onion. This is super easy. All right. And a perfect thanksgiving or deserve. Hors de vours. This whole thing is gluten free. Correct. We have mustard. Worcestershire sauce. A little mayo. Thats probably what helps kind of keep it together. Mayo not miracle whip. Right. And of course some cheese. This is swiss cheese a cup of it. Were just going to mix all of that together. What you are making is stuffed mushroom caps right . Correct. This is the indicative of the type of thing you will see at our Cooking School. Are a lot of the recipes this recipes we showcase are all readers recipes they send to us. Then you taste them and test them . Yup. And this recipe comes to us from a lady in sioux falls, south dakota. Im from rapid city so a little hometown pride. I have family in sioux falls. Small little town. I want to make these for an appetizer for thanksgiving. You the cap right . Is that enough maybe a little more . Yup. It makes 48. So you can really 48 mushrooms. Then you just put it in there. What did we learn the other day five appetizer bites per person. Thats how youre supposed to plan if you are having guests. Did you a little neater than i did. What do you bake these at . Uncovered. And when they come out. Wa lah. Will this be one of the recipes on the tour . I dont think this is one of the recipes, but it will be a recipe like this. I think thats a great appetizer. You can probably make those ahead and pop them in the oven. Maybe refrigerate them dont freeze them, but the day before bring them out. I will take so good. Exterior doors look good and the doorbell works. Yes. Your front door. So simple. Make sure that the front door looks good. Make sure that there is not chipping paint and that the hardware on the door looks good if there is any glass it looks good. And side lights and everything. Make sure that stuff is all in good repair. Make sure your doorbell works. How often do you use your doorbell maybe if a girl scout comes you might notice it, but you probably know after trick works. If you are lookinged a stained, that are broken things like that have that taken care of. If you can do it yourself great. If not hire a professional. Its not a terribly expensive fix and it makes a big, big difference. Typically having a place for everything and reducing that clutter. Right. Heres something that doesnt cost you any money. Get rid of all of this stuff you have. Take a third of the things in your closet take them out. Make sure your closets look big. And if you have collections like the ap you treasure it thats great put it away and treasure it in your new home. [laughter] because it makes it look cluttered whether it is this wonderful expensive collection or not its just when things dont have a place, then people start to think like oh, maybe this house doesnt have enough storage for me. Yeah. And think collections are neat to us because they are personalized, but to other people they are like why do they collect this . Personal effects when you get ready to show your house. Including pictures. You want someone to see their personal stuff in there. You want them to think that would be a great place for my collection. Along with having a place is making sure the house shines with finishing touches make it look complete. Maybe a bathroom renovation isnt in your budget, but what you can do is replace faucets, you can replace hardware, if you have an old mirror maybe replacing that. Make things look and you would be surprised what a difference that makes. Yeah. Sometimes just removing stuff off that bathroom counter you know and just putting basic stuff out. I like that too. And in michigan we know there is a lot of great spas you can choose from so my thought is maybe mom gets a massage and you put the kids in ski lessons, michigan.
