a fight with his wife. she called 911 saying richardson held her at gunpoint and was trying to kill her. police say when they got there - he barricaded himself in the house. eventually richardson came out of the house with a gun - according to police - and thats when they released krijger on him to take him down. police say richardson shot and killed the dog. thats when police say they shot back - hitting but not killing richardson. richardsons neighbor - but they stand by their story that richardson shot the k9 first - before officers pulled their trigger. now there is both an internal administrative invsegitation and a criminal investigation into what happened. richardson is in the hopsital in itical condidtion - facing veral felony charges. ve in norfolk nadeen yanes wschannel 3. the u-s supreme court has not cided on whether or not the gh court will take up the case against former virginia governor bob mcdonnell. mcdonnell was supposed to find out today whether or not he has to report to prison this week. the supreme court was expected to make announcement today on whether they will hear an appeal on his federal corruption conviction. but we )re told they have not reached a decision yet mcdonnell s attorney says this is he went on to say this delay doesn t necessarily mean the supreme court will choose to hear his appeal but it does mean there s some debate among the justices. new at 6. a norfolk city councilman is calling for treasure anthony burfoot to take a leave of absence. burfoot was indicted on federal charges for using his various positions with the city over the last several years -- to get payments, gifts, and other items of value. he appeared in federal court on iday. rfoot attorney says he plans to return to work as treasurer and will not step down from his position. today councilman barclay winn told newschannel -- after reading the indictment and thinking about it over the weekend he thinks burfoot should step aside. he sent us a statement saying the charges have shaken the public trust in his office. it "i believe that he would serve the public best by stepping aside and taking a leave of absence until these charges are resolved and i urge him to do so immediately." he also said not to step aside would only hurt the people of norfolk. burfoot is scheduled to be back in court january twentieth. police have arrested the woman they say stabbed someone in hampton. 33 year old taloni stewart was arrested after police say she stabbed another woman on norwood circle -- near pembroke avenue. investigators say stewart and the victim go into an argument -- that s when she pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim one time. she is charged with one count of malicious wounding. the victim was taken to the hospital and should be okay. an american found dead overseas has ties to chesapeake. the tragedy is making international headlines from italy. newschannel 3 s margaret kavanagh spoke with some of her loved ones today and joins us live with more. ashley )s sister lives in chesapeake with her husband and children. they were too upset to speak to us, according to someone who answered the door of their home but we spoke to others who have met meet the 35 year old woman and are in disbelief. ashley olsen was found dead in her apartment in italy on saturday. the 35 year old artist is from florida but her sister lives in chesapeake. 21:09 )oh that is a shock. an absolute shock. jerry curley couldn t believe that his next door neighbor s sister is the victim. he says he )s only met ashley a handful of times when she would come to visit her family in hampton roads. 21:30 )she was happy, smiley. happy go lucky ashley was living in florence the past two years -
