south, and serious tornado cleanup underway in florida. some of this turned deadly. >> in the upstate, homes crushed under trees, power lines ripped down into traffic, roofs wrenched off the buildings spartanburg county tonight. rachelle. seen so much damage across spartanburg county, it felt like every time we got to one place that was hit hard, we heard about another. take a look at this building behind me, you can see the yellow caution tape. this roof was ripped off, all three businesses here and the owners say they were inside when the metal came crashing down. willie pierson was working in his barbershop when he heard the wind pick up. the roof had lifted slightly in the corner, he told his wife he would climb up tro ek it out as soon as he finished his last cut. >> he gave me his money, and when i dusted him off, the whole roof blew off the building. >>reporter: you could have been up there. >> i thank god. >> all of this noise, the crackling sound, i thought a plane had fell on the building. even when i seen the sunshining through i looked around to see if i saw my husband. >>reporter: a tree destroyed this spartanburg home, the family trying to find comfort in inside. salvaging what they could. the storm took down power lines across spartanburg county, this one, blocking a road in boiling springs. we talked to one driver who said the weather was so bad when this happened she was driving down this road, and couldn't even see tha this power line had come down, she drove straight into it, just minutes after it happened. >> it scared the life out of me, honey. i mean, you know, i've been out in a storm like that before. >>reporter: leaving her windshield scattered, hood scuffed and faith stronger than ever. >> i feel like the good lord is watching over me,
