A checkpoint was set up at the schools entrance today as a precaution. School leaders say. Security will remain high over the next few of days. Virginia tech police say a handful of students have had their credit or debit card accounts hacked over the last police chief kevin foust says the department has received around five reports of fraud from students since they returned from winter break. As we found out, one group from sputhwest virginia is helping to lead the charge. Dozens gathered at John Tyler Community college to hear history lessons about virginias rosenwalds school. There were more than 350 of these facilities built across the commonwealth as a way to educate now. Nearly a century later. Millicent nash is part of efforts to raise awareness about rosenwalds in areas like Campbell County. 23 37 38 the county sought us out to see the significance of the buildings and from then we ran with it. Nash is part of the Campbell County training complex committee. Their goal is to preserve this. The largest rosenwald facility in the state. There was once 16 of the schools in Campbell County, now this is one of only 5 that remain. How a unique Charity Event will make a difference for the a christiansburg man is honored for his 52 years of service as a rescue squad worker. 80yearold Kelly Walters was presented with a resolution of appreciation from the General Assembly thursday. Walters served on the christiansburg rescue squad. And helped start the riner rescue squad. He still aides on calls when he can. While it was an honor. Walters says he is content with hearing a thank you frh hundreds of peoples community.
