will continue for sunday with winter weather on the way for monday. hot springs in the single digits. >> whitney: tonight the pittsylvania county sheriff's office is trying to figure out what led to a man being hit and killed by a train in gretna. sheriff mike taylor tells me the call came under around 9:30 this morning. investigator came to the scene and found a man dead on the train tracks across from the movie theater on maine street. we are still waiting for the sheriff's office to confirm the man's identity. a teenager is dead following a head-on collision last night in roanoke. around 9:00 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of hardy road. 19-year-old kayla simmons was driving westbound on hardy line and hit another vehicle. simmons was taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries. the other driver is 33-year-old christopher markus hash. he was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. there were no passengers in either vehicles. drugs and alcohol are possibly factors in this crash, but that is still under investigation. >> the henry county sheriff's office is asking for your help finding 16-year-old jeffrey pruitt. he was last seen at a relatives house on stoney mountain road many martinsville. pruitt was wearing a black or camouflage color hoodie with blue jeans. if you have any information, contact the henry county sheriff's office. >> the campaign trail is getting heated in the race for the white house. while the republicans get ready to debate tonight in south carolina. just one week ahead of the g.o.p. primary there. we have more. >> reporter: from the rally stage. >> we lead to world when we have a shared identity. >> reporter: to the debate stage. jeb bush and john kasich warming up by courting voters in south carolina. >> give me a chance to take this message to america. give me the votes you have and call three people and get them to vote. >> reporter: the final show downin the south will contain six republican candidates. >> as it gets closer, it gets nastier. >> reporter: after his big win in new hampshire, donald trump has largely stayed staying aim at ted cruz, saying if ted cruz doesn't start cleaning up his acts, i'm sue him for not being a natural born citizen. >> trump uses his power for personal gain. imagine the power he could do as president. >> reporter: and marco rubio uses the chance to redeem himself. hillary clinton and bernie sanders are facing off on the campaign trail. their next battleground state is nevada. >> we surprised them in iowa. we surprised them in new hampshire. we're going to surprise them here in nevada. >> reporter: sanders is working to capitalize on his momentum after his win in new hampshire. and clinton is rallying supporters in a comeback. >> i'm not new to this fight. have work to do. >> whitney: donald trump supporters show their support in many different ways. take a look at this man's costume at the republican presidential candidate's campaign rally in tampa, florida yesterday. he's dressed as the trump wall. earlier this week, a toddler dressed as mini trump got his hand autographed in louisiana. president gilmer russa says that brazil will have great success fighting mosquitos carrying the zika virus. brazil's military and hundreds of thousands of health workers will be working together in that effort. experts say the virus is sweeping through parts of latin america. zika is mostly harmless for adults but has been linked to a serious birth defect among the olympics in rio get underway in august. and governor david eguy signed an emergency proclamation yesterday concerning the zika virus. his office called the move a preventative measure. it will free up state funds for personnel and resources. the proclamation didn't mean that residents or tourists should be alarmed. no one has picked up the zika virus in hawaii. the governor said the proclamation is about getting (male vo) across america, people like basketball hall of famer dominique wilkins are taking charge of their type 2 diabetes with non-insulin victoza . but it didn't get me to my goal. so i asked my doctor about victoza . he said victoza works differently than pills. and comes in a pen. victoza is proven to lower blood sugar and a1c. it's taken once a day, any time. victoza is not for weight loss, but it may help you lose some weight. >> reporter: tom, law enforcement sources tell me that justice scalia died earlier today in texas, apparent of natural causes. u.s. marshals are at the scene, and there is no evidence of foul play. scalia was a giant figure in washington and news of his death has spread quickly. we're told president obama has been informed, as has senior justice department officials. fair to say that official washington tonight is stunned. tom?
