breaking there. roanoke goes all the way back to 1943. that's a look at our next weather-maker. it's in the dakotas right now. it's providing snow for those areas. it will be in the area monday and arriving tomorrow night for some locations with that cold continuing and that around 3:00, around the weather central highands. and at 10:00, on the door step of lynchburg. some of the snow could be on the heavier side. >> whitney: thank you, will. we have an update tonight on the death of a man hit by a train in gretna this morning. the pittsylvania county sheriff's office has now identified that man as 69-year-old walter davis. sheriff mike taylor tells me the call came in around 9:30 this morning. when investigators got to the scene, they found davis dead at the train tracks across the movie theater on main street. they said that davis's death appears to be accidentally. a teenager is dead following a head-on collision last night in roanoke. around 9:00 p.m., police were called to the 2200 block of 18-year-old kayla simmons was driving westbound on hardy road and crossed the central line. she was taken to the hospital and later died of her injuries. christopher markus hash was also taken to the hospital with serious injuries. there were no passengers in either vehicle. police say is that drugs and alcohol are possible factors in this crash, but that is still under investigation. the republican presidential candidates battled it out on the debate stage in south carolina tonight, but if you ask a few college students in lexington, the results are in. the washington and lee mock convention has come on an end. >> reporter: it was such an impressive event to watch. the research they put into making their decision is mind-boggling. >> donald trump. >> while she was secretary of state. of today's documents posted online, none were classified or labeled rather as top secret, but most of the e-mails were upgraded to confidential after being released, which is the lowest classification level. the state department said none of the e-mails were marked confidential at the time they were sent. earlier this week, a judge ordered clinton's e-mails month. in hot springs. feels like two below in blacksburg. and 10-11 on southside. and these numbers continually going down in the overnight hours tonight. it's going to be cold regardless of how cold we actually get down for tonight. and tomorrow morning, it will be cold and there's a rebound throughout the day. at least not what it feels like to the exposed skin, so dress appropriately. taking a look at what else we have on radar for you right now. we have a wind chill advisory for anywhere along and west of lynchburg right now. that goes until 10:00 in the morning. we'll see clear skies for at before more clouds roll back to the area. here's our next weather-maker from bismarck to rapid city. it's a clipper and you can see the path illustrated by the blue color. we are under a winter storm watch. we'll see the clouds increase ahead of this system. it will come through the area and provide a little bit of snow on the way for monday. and before it exit we'll transition to a little bit of mixings on monday and tuesday. future cast, again, tomorrow morning, starts out dry. the clouds will increase later on in the day. at 9:30 in the morning -- by 5:00, 6:00, mostly cloudy skies and snow on the doorstep and snow continue in the nighttime hours tomorrow night. and we'll throw in a little bit of mixing in southside. and mixing for everyone monday afternoon-monday night. and maybe a little bit of rain before it's all said and done for tuesday. focus on the bull eye, the storm will be west of hot springs and roanoke. and we can see about a.25 inches of ice possible. 4-9 inches north and west of roanoke. more ice on the southside, 0-3 inches. here's what we can expect. snow overnight tonight continuing to monday. it will transition to a wintry mix monday afternoon. it will stay a wintry mix tuesday. it will change over to all rain by tuesday afternoon. overnight lows in the single digits to the teens. well, still to come, great news for a virginia university. the census bureaus shows that bookstore sales rose last year. that's the first year over year increase for the city since 2007. publishers weekly first reported the figures saying that print sales went up. apple is entering the original tv series business, and hip-hop legend dr. dre will star in the company's first original scripted series. exclusive report in the "hollywood reporter." dr. dre will
