Talk to me about his actions there. Thats right. If there is a bright spot for donald trump on the 100 days, this is it. 25 executive orders. Many the people remember. The two travel bans. The regulations you mentioned. Others on reorganizing government. This is far more than obama and his predecessor. This is an area where he used the power of the out of washington yar, get out the travel. Lets talk about travel. He has been on the road, ten states, similar to obama using state obama to push initiatives. Heres the contrast. At this point when you look at trips abroad, all around the world, donald trump has not left the country in the first 10 d0 days. Obama had been to nine. Which President Trump has more political tall capital to try t things done. It does not appear that he has used this period at the height of his political power to get that much accomplished. We talk about the 100 days and the president knocked it down saying its artificial. Do we want as citizens of this country administrations rushing through crucial legislation just to hit some mark on a calendar . Well, we dont want it for that reason, but we need signs of life and a sign of a competent governing capacity. So far they havent displayed that. They tried to enact the muslim ban. It was tied up in court. They tried to repeal health care. That was a big whiff as well. We dont need it for sort of an artificial that trump touted. But the challenge is with the exception of a very big accomplishment which is the appointment of gorsuch, they dont have a lot to show for their 100 day efforts. On one hand the president is saying this is a ridiculous standard. On the other hand, he seems to be working overtime to try to notch victories before friday, including the border wall funding. He said we have to get it into this budget deal. And now he had to back down. Yeah. It is extraordinarily shortsighted. Anybody who paid any attention to congress over the last decade recognized in order to pass budget bills, you need democrats. Democrats were not going to include funding for a budget wall. Its not surprising he climbed down from the proposal. If anything the fact that he did so on a monday night as opposed to waiting until the deadline on friday is an be learning something. 96 of the people part of President Trumps base are sticking with him in a poll. How does the base feel about backing down from the border wall. They want mexico to pay for it, not the u. S. Government. How will they feel about that . His base is a personal obsession. They think they all have my cell phone. I was in michigan and pennsylvania talking to him. Theyre going to give him time. They still believe in the muslim ban as a strategy to protect the homeland. You talk about artificial deadlines. To them 100 days is not a fair amount of time and theyll give him time. I think we see failed efforts. They see flexibility when it comes to agreeing to not fund the wall. He got a Supreme Court nominee through, and a lot of people have given him points for Foreign Policy issues. Doing something decisive in syria. Perhaps getting china to bere cooperative. Its unwise to gauge Foreign Policy success on a 100window. Hes trying to turn it into a constructive governing agenda. Its not been smooth sailing. In the meantime President Trumps daughter is making her debut on the world stage this morning. Ivanka is speaking at a forum in berlin, germany. Her First International trip as an unpaid adviser to her father. Hallie jackson made the trip as well. And hallie, i think the purpose of the trip is stated as discussing job training.
