Reporter Law EnforcementOfficials Say they have not located any additional shooting scenes or bodies and are asking stephens to reach out to family and local clergy for help. Were asking him to turn himself in. Were brought everything to bear on this from our federal partners, our state and local partners. We want him to turn himself in. Police have alerted neighboring states, indiana and pennsylvania, to be on the lookout as well. Matt, savannah, back to you. I hope they find this guy and very soon. Ron, thank you very much. Also this morning, the white house is sending a stern new warning to north korea after an unannounced overnight visit to the dmz, Vice President mike pence declared the end of socalled strategic patience. He also reiterated all options are on the table when it comes to dealing with the north korean regime. Weve got full coverage. Janice is in seoul this morning. Janice, good morning to you. Reporter good morning, savannah. Vice president mike pence putting the north korean regime on notice today. The Vice President visiting south korea at a time of escalating tensions, worry over north koreas growing arsena Vice President mike pence warning north korea that the era of strategic patience is over. All options are on the table. Just in the past two weeks, the world witnessed the strength and resolve of our new president in actions taken in syria and afghanistan. North korea would do well not to test his resolve. Reporter during a surprise visit to the Demilitarized Zone dividing two koreas, the Vice President could look directly at north korea, north korean soldiers staring back. The dmz, the legacy of a war mr. Pences father fought in 64 years ago. In a message on twitter, pence said the visit was meaningful. While the trip to south korea was planned long ago, it took on added significance over the weekend, following a failed missile test by the rogue nation. We want to see north korea abandon its reckless path of the and also its continual use of and testing of Ballistic Missiles is unacceptable. Reporter amid the specter of the sixth nuclear test, north korea held a massive military parade on saturday. A showcase of missiles, mobile launchers, and what experts believe was the prototype for a new Intercontinental Ballistic Missile designed to potentially reach the united states. Kim jong un watching it all go by. But just hours after flaunting its might, the regime exposed its weakness. With that failed test of a mediumrange missile that blew up just seconds after launch. A deep embarrassment for kim jong un but not good for the u. S. Or the region either. This is a regime that is intent on continuing to develop its missile and Nuclear Program and one failure isnt going to stop that program. Reporter with tensions escalating, the american position hardening, strike Group Heading toward the peninsula, pressure is mounting. One small mistake could trigger one very big disaster. The Vice President has given u. S. Security assurances to south korea, saying the u. S. Commitment is ironclad. He wants to push ahead with deployments of the antimissile Defense System thats controversial here but nonetheless seen as necessary to counter the threat. Matt, savannah, back to you. Janis, thank you so much. Nbc news analyst jeremy basher, the chief of the Defense Department and the cia. Good morning, jeremy. So this explodes five minutes after launch. Its either an embarrassing failure or perhaps a dangerous sign because the north is devoting to heading toward a nuclear weapon. Every failure they have causes them to go into overdrive. They perfect their missile program. They are really trying to do two things. They are trying to get the elen trucks, making them mobile, and theyre also perfecting their solid fuel so they can launch in a hurry without that long lead time. They want to do this, matt and savannah, anywhere any time. Lets go back because the u. S. Intelligence suspected that they would test something much more severe, a nuclear device, the sixth test of that. They didnt. They test a mid range missile instead. They blinked. Well, maybe they did. They could have tested a nuclear weapon, which theyve done five times before going all the way back to 2006. They could have also flight tested their Intercontinental Ballistic Missile. That would obviously have the potential to range the united states. Much more provocative but the missile capability could hit japan or south korea and thats what we worry about, them attacking our allies or attacking south korea where we have 30,000 troops on the peninsula. Given this fivesecond failure, theres some speculation that perhaps the u. S. May have been involved somehow, sabotagit is that something thats within our capability . Do you think that seems likely . I dont know and if i knew, im not sure i could say. What we do know is that they are going to perfect this missile capability, put their program into overdrive and really try to threaten their neighbors in the region. When you hear words like this coming from our Vice President and general mcmaster that the era of strategic patience is over and general mcmaster saying all options still viable and theyre being refined, do you like that kind of talk when it comes to kim jong un . I like the silent treatment. What im more concerned about were the tweets from the president on april 1 1 and april 13 saying were going to take care of this problem ourselves. That, to me, signals preemptive military action. General mcmaster backed off that a little bit. The North Koreans will look most clearly to our president. Jeremy bash, thank you. Appreciate it. Emotions boiling over, leading to arrests in california. For the most part, demonstrators were peaceful but determined to get their message out. Including some who live near his West Palm Beach resort. Every other president has shown their tax returns and i think theres something in there that he wants to hide. Reporter the president , who has said he wont release his returns because hes under audit, lashing out. I did what was an almost impossible thing to do for a republican, easily won the electoral college. Now tax returns are brought up again . Even demanding, someone should look into who paid for the small organized rallies yesterday. The election is over. But with tax day approaching, theres no sign these protesters are planning to let up. As for mr. Trumps assertion the protesters were paid, theres no evidence of that.
