metro, all lines are running on time. we'll have travel times on the roadways in ten minutes. it is 6:02. right now, time is running out for house republicans ready to strike a deal on a new health care plan. a vote is expected tonight on a new health care bill. >> but there is worry that there aren't american health care plan to even pass. house republican res making big last minute changes to the bill. some lawmakers are lobbying president trump in the white house to change regulations that would be imposed on insurance companies. the president will meet with the conservative caucus this morning to hammer out a deal before a vote. no democrats are set to vote on this and at least 28 republicans are leaning towards voting no on the plan. the president is already on to the next phase in health care. >> we're going to bid out drug prices and we're going to try and have the lowest prices anywhere in the world. >> the american health care plan needs 215 votes to pass. >> we are also looking into a new claim from the chairman of the house intelligence committee. he says president trump's transition team and possibly the president himself were inadvertently surveilled following november's election. coming up at 6:30, more on what happens next with the investigation. we're learning new details in the murder of an >> she was found stabbed to death this week in a d.c. apartment. megan mcgrath has details now on a person of interest. megan. >> well, good morning. as you can see behind me here, police are still watching over the crime scene days after this murder. and we're now getting more information from investigators. that information coming down late last night about a person of interest. take a look at this photograph. it was taken at a convenience store that is located about 14 miles from the murder scene. that convenience store on garrett avenue in beltsville, that's in prince george's county. it shows a man walking into that store. police are hoping that someone will have information about who this individual is. they certainly want to talk to him. now, karina meal was found dead in this basement apartment on 14th street on tuesday. she had been stabbed to death. meal was originally from north carolina. she came to d.c. to assist another artist with a project. she s at the corcoran school of arts and design. news 4 spoke to meal's stepmother by phone. she says she really does not understand why anyone would want to hurt her stepdaughter. >> she lived her life so fully. she worked so hard for other people. she was an amazing heartist. she cared deeply about people. >> and police are looking for karina meal's car, as well. it has not been seen. it is a blue, 2004 toyota prius. it has kentucky license plates 722 rmy. if you about arrests and the suspect. erika gonzalez is at the live desk with details. good portion. >> good morning, eun. a moment of silence just held there in london. while there were two scenes, police believe it was one man behind the attacks in london yesterday and that the events were inspired by international terrorism. police say the attacker plowed through a crowd of people in westminster bridge with a four by four and then went to parliament where he attacks an officer with a knife. the officer and the attacker among the four people dead. more than two dozen are injured. more than a handful in critical condition. prime minister theresa may condemned today attack as a sick and depraved terrorist attack. back to you. >> erica, thank you. it's 6:06 right now. we have new video this morning of a man accused of killing a black man in new york. the man you see here in the white suit is james harris police in new york say he went there with the soul purpose of killing black men. jackson is from baltimore. now, police say on monday jackson stabbed timothy kaufman in the back with a sword. kaufman died. jackson turned himself in after he saw security footage on tv. according to investigators, jackson said he's hated black men for a decade. so far, he's only been charged with second degree murder, but that could change. he could be charged with a hate crime. d.c. police need your help finding 17-year-old katherine hunter. hunter is just one of the yoens why a crowd packed a room last night. people want to know why so many teens are missing in the district. the mayor of an alabama woman jumping out of a trunk to save her own life. now, brittany diggs can sleep easier knowing the man who put her in that trnk is behind bars. man the well towns is charged with kidnapping, robbery and a fraudulent use of a credit card. towns kidnapped diggs, stuffed her in the trunk and drive around to several atms trying to withdrawn money from her account. diggs says she's grateful for the wick work in arresting her attacker. >> it definitely gives me some peace of mind. i still have a lot of healing to do. but at least knowing that he's fought out there is a better feeling. >> diggs says everyone should know w latch in the trunk of their car. we're learning this morning how a texas woman survived after being stranded for nearly a week in a remote area near the grand canyon. she told rescue onners her car ran out of gas and she had no signal. she made a makeshift help sign that was eventually spotted by a helicopter crew. the woman was taken to the hospital and will be okay. apple users, you don't have to worry that your icloud account is at risk, despite what you've heard. the company says its systems have not been breached, even though a hacker has threatened to wipe millions of accounts. the tech giant says it will continue to monitor account. developing now, there was a crash on the beltway this morning and police car was a part of this. erika morning. so right now, beltway clear. you're not having any issues here. but this was, again, the scene about 3:00 this morning. somehow we are told the officer lost control of his police cruiser and wound up hitting a guardrail. that's why you see the damage there on the front end of that cruiser. not hearing of any injuries, but an investigation for sure into exactly what transpired here. >> the prince george's county police officer. turns out, he was right. officer biddy was poisoned by carbon monoxide inside his cruiser. martin called 911 and went right to biddy's home t the officer take a look. this is in the murder of karina meal. the artist found stabbed the death in an apartment on 14th street northeast. meal was last seen sunday night at the cochran school of the arts where she worked. a vote is expected to happen tonight on the new health care plan. but many are worried whether the house care british prime minister teresa sma about to speak in a parliament after that attack there. four people, including the attacker and a police officer were killed near parliament yet yesterday. police in britain say they've arrested seven people overnight. today, security will be beefed up at rockville high school. that school has been the center of national attention after a student was allegedly raped last thursday by two classmates, one an undocumented immigrant. yesterday, someone called in a bomb threat and threatened to bring a gun to school to, quote, kill illegals. news 4's justin finch is live outside rockville high school with what officials are doing to convince students they are safe. justin. >> aaron, good morning. students will likely see police patrolling about rockville high's campus today and add mip administrators taking some extra steps to make sure they have track of them here on campus. now, montgomery county police will be rockville high after a wave of threats came in on wednesday. among them, a bomb threat and one threatened to shoot undocumented immigrant students. now, this comes after two male students, ages 18 and 17 were charged with raping a 14-year-old girl in a school bathroom last week. at least one suspect is an undocumented immigrant. now, in some ways, one rockville student says this has brought their school together, inspiring conversations between them about some tough topics. >> people that i've never really even seen talk i've seen coming together, talking about the incident, talking about how we can move forward together as a school the. >> our students that are here, we are going to take good care of them. we're going to increase our vigilance about making sure that everything is secure in all of our schools. >> and to keep track of students on campus, rockville's campus has warned add mip after she was found brutally murdered, the family of a 15-year-old gaithersburg girl will finally lay her to rest. the funeral for alexandra reyes is today at st. rose of lima catholic church in gaithersburg. reyes went missing two months before her body was found in a virginia industrial park. police believe her murder was gang related. ten people have been charged in connection with her individual. take a look here. they are wanting to get any information they can on who is man is in this picture. now, the photo was taken at a convenience store which is located about 14 miles from forced entry here at the apartment. police are also looking for neal's car, which is still missing. it is described as a blue 2004 toyo toyota prius with kentucky plates. 722 rmy is the license plate number. anyone with more information, you're asked to call investigators. worth mentioning here is days later, days after neal's body was found here, we still have police on the scene. they have not
