Thats when calls stopped coming into the center. If you called 911 anywhere between 11 35 to about 1 15, you may have gotten a busy signal. It may not have rang or it may not have even tripped over. What they did when they found out about this, they instituted backup procedures, physically moving the 911 takers to the backup facility over at the mcmilan reservoi transfer the calls to where those back up takers were. People needed to call two tendigit numbers if they needed emergency assistance. By 12 35 they were able to get the 911 calls back to the backup site and an hour and a half later they had the problem solved. They narrowed things down. But they havent solved it yet. We are able to rule out the possibility of nefarious activities or some kind of hack into our system. We know that is not a probability. We are reviewing and looking into all our systems doing full system reviews to ensure that we find out what did happen to our system. Reporter now, they do believe that it was a power problem not from the Electric Company but a power problem o some kind of equipment failure t problems, the 911 calls not to be taken and the inability to transfer them to the backup site. During the period of the outage, fire and ems responded to 30 calls for ems and 50 calls for fire and npd says those numbers could change. The calls might have registered more than once.
