Shifting to politics now, this weekend marks the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights march from selma to montgomery alabama. Joining us to talk about it moderator of meet the press chuck todd is here. We want to get right to it. You spoke with congressman john lewis about it who was at the initial march. Tell us what he had to say. Ill play a little clip for you. I asked what had more lasting effects, the physical or the mental injuries. The physical scars are still visible. When i go back i remember the bridge for me almost a sacred place. Thats where some o little blood and where some people almost died. But that bridge what happened on that sunday have changed america forever. Yesterday, i thought president obama gave perhaps one of the best speeches hes given as president. These commemorative speeches are very difficult because people have these ridiculously high expectations. Especially him. Especially him in this moment. He met the moment in a way that i havent seen him meet in a long time on Something Like this. You could see it. There was universal praise for what he did. This is clearly above politics. John lewis is a living american hero. When you hear him describe exactly every second of what happened that day, it is something it was mesmerizing. We want to talk about hillary clinton, also. Politics also seeps in. We got to get in here its washington. She had a speech last night. The former secretary of state did not mention the email controversy. Aside from the tweet we havent really heard from her. At this point are the democrats starting to show any signs that theyre sweating over this . We know donors already are. Some saying shes waited too long to address this. Youll hear from senator dianne feinstein, somebody very supportive of the clintons over the years, very supportive of hillary clinton. Youll get a sense of a tiny bit of frustration, like why is she having to defend secretary clinton . Why isnt secretary clinton defending secretary clinton . President obama speaking out about it was very careful not to defend what she did, simply saying im glad shes going to disclose. There is hand wringing particularly in particularly who think shes fallen into a trap that frankly obama folks took advantage of in 07 saying shes not an open and transparent person, the clintons are in to secrecy. Does this open up a whole other discourse on benghazi . I think what it ends up opening up is it gives Congressional Republicans their own belief that theyre credible now in their investigation. Obviously democrats have been trying to dismiss it as a witch hunt going after the clintons for sport. Without this investigation we wouldnt have found out about the i mail server. I think it means this committee lives on and becomes sort of a thorn in her side throughout the president ial campaign. We have a big vote coming up on march 17. Benjamin netanyahu, the Prime Minister of israel who just spoke to congress. What do we need to look for this week . What is going to be the big thing to see . Its interesting. With him, thats something totally overlooked last week i think in coverage of what happened. This for him was about his own domestic politics. When insecurity is the number one issue to voters. Thats always traditionally been good for his party. This is his strength. If the election had been about domestic issues and the economy, he would be in more trouble right now, sort of the domestic side of israeli politics sort of like ours. All right. A lot to talk about today. Coming up right after the show. You can see meet the press with chuck right after news 4 today. Well the time right now 10 22.
