Lookty feels like, gaithersburg, 19 degrees and district feels like 23 and it feels colder now than it did this morning. This is going to be the trend throughout the day today. Temperatures dropping into the 20s. These are actual temperatures as we go through this evening and overnight but feel colder, even like the teens tomorrow morning. Well talk more about that plus a warmup for the weekend coming up. The snow is really coming down in northern maryland. Several School Districts were delayed because of it. The kids at Lincoln Elementary this morning got a couple of extra zs because they are on a twohour delay because of snow. You cant see it now but it did fall early this morning. The snow fell before dawn in frederick, the temperature in the 70s yesterday, dropped to just above freezing overnight. And rain drops turned into snow flakes. What a difference a day can make. Unbelievable i was walking out in a tshirt and knowing full well that today i would be out here in everything. Its weird. Yesterday the windows open and shorts on, today look at this mess. Winter is here for a couple of hours. Reporter because the ground temperatures were so high, what little snow that fell melted on contact. Area roads were just wet, not much need for snow plows then at 6 30 it was all over. For grownups it was a wet start for work day and Frederick County kids, a chance to sleep in. Schools opened two hours late. I got to sleep in and time to get ready and it wasnt rushing, it was nice to not stress in the morning and relax. The winter storm stopped all kinds of travel between philly and on or more once you crossed the Mason Dixon Line and that forced lots of schools to close and cancel flights to be canceled as well. Massachusetts is under a winter storm warning at this hour. Theres a blizzard warning in long island for most of the rest of the day. The Winter Weather has meant delays and cancellations at airports along the east coast. Reagan national is reporting nearly 100 cancellations but no delays. Bwi marshall reporting 40 while dulles is reporting 21 cancellations, most of those are flights headed north of us. You want to check in with your airline before heading to the airport today.
