Salt trucks were brought in to try and melt things, but the damage was done. There were a series of Car Accidents that happened here as we understand it, the initial accident scene happened involving maybe a tractor trailer and several cars. And then several cars were trying to stop to avoid the initial scene. The chopper pilot indicated that he saw 50 to 100 vehicles involve offed in this series of of collisions and then the backups that came after that on the turnpike, there were at least 12 patients taken to area hospitals. 5 of them trauma patients and 7 of them being treated for minor incidents.
