The fire department. A neighbor reported smoke in the building, but when they got here it quickly turned into a death investigation. Firefighters were called to the apartment complex at 6 04 in the morning. When they got here they found smoke coming from a second floor apartment. The fire was put down quickly. In the parking lot they found a victim an unidentified female. Authorities confirmed the person died. The Fire Marshals Office a and the Police Department will be working the investigation jointly. They are working the death as a homicide. It comes as a shock to residents, many of whom were at first unaware there was an emergency. I live on that side of the building. I came out my door and i see all this commotion. I really had no idea. The fire was contained to a single apartment. The First Responders had to force their way into the apartment when they got here.
