Reporter Maryland Governor larry hogan with strong words against Montgomery County schools after a 14yearold student was raped in the boys bathroom at rockvil Montgomery County government and the Montgomery County police are cooperating. The School System is not. It appears as if they have something to hide. Reporter hogan accused the School System of withholding information from the state board of education about the rape and the schools involved. Two boys who were students have been charged 18yearold Henry Sanchez and 17yearold jose montano. Officials say sanchez had an immigration case pending since august. A spokesman for county executive Isaiah Legget says they are cooperating. We dont want our county Police Enforcing Immigration law. But in this case, i think everybody can agree that if these folks are convicted that these are folks that we dont want in our county. Reporter one new piece of information that came out during this press conference was from Montgomery County police, explaining this rape happened in what was described as a remote area of the school tha again something that the School Superintendent said is being addressed to make sure all areas of every school are safe. Now the pta of the school will be meeting tonight at 7 00. As that investigation continues, the city of rockville in Montgomery County is considering a controversial ordinance to become a sanctuary city. Rockville police have an informal policy to not ask anyone about their immigration status. The ordinance would make that policy official. The city held a public hearing on the matter earlier this month where opponents said they feel the change would make the city less safe. The iteam reports that there were 27 high School Sexual assaults or sexual incidents requiring a response from the police in the 20152016 school year. And in april of 2014 the School District told the iteam it installed mirrors and cameras to reduce blind spots in some the hallways at a different high school in rockville after two students had consensual sex in an area where the staff would not defect them. According to a freedom of information act request that the iteam made back in 2015, about 5,000 cameras were installed in schools across Montgomery County. Chopper 4 is over the scene of a serious crash in ft. Washington right now. This is a live picture at ft. Washington road and river view road. Were told that four people were hurt in this crash, two of them are in critical condition. One of the injured is a child with critical injuries. No word yet on what caused this crash. Montgomery county has nearly 50,000 federal workers and some lawmakers fear that the president s Budget Proposal could be devastating for the county. To protest the move, a familiar character joins parents, children and advocates to rally on capitol hill today. Advocates collected more than 660,000 signatures and delivered them to the senate offices. Man has been awa strip searched by a Laurel Police officer in a Public Parking lot. News4s Mark Segraves reports that before the judges ruling Laurel Police denied the fact that a strip search ever happened. I feared for my life. He would have shot me. Sergeant says he was strip searched in the parking lot of this cvs on route one while passers by watched. What happened to him is to demeaning, degrading, humiliating and really terror e terrorizing. Reporter at the time of the incident officials with the Laurel Police department denied that any strip search took place and called the allegations, during the Court Proceedings it was revealed when laurel officials told the public it didnt happen, police had evidence that in fact it did. Her cell phone was in her lap. And her car door, her side was open. Reporter the victim, 21yearold Heather Ciccone, shot to death at close help her friend whose car had broken down. She was found dead about five miles away in her car, in this driveway alongside a country road. Her family devastated by her murder. She was a great sister, a great daughter, an aunt, a friend. She was everything to us. Reporter after 15 months, police have now charged two men in connection with the murder. 29yearold Joshua Williams and 28yearold jonathan vejarano. Both men have felony records. Both men were in jail in other cases when the murder charges came down. So whats the story here . Whats the motive . Are there any more suspects . Fairfax county elected leaders say its time too quickly ramp up efforts to counter gang violence. Their alarm comes after a series of gang murders across Northern Virginia. Bureau chief julie carey was at todays meeting and joins us with a look at some proposed solutions. Reporter first off, by weeks end we could know the identity of the two bodies found back in the woods in Holmes Run Park a few weeks ago. Already police and elected leaders convinced they were the one supervisor thinks it might be time to get some undocumented teenagers out of Fairfax County Public Schools. The arrows point to the murder scene in the woods where two bodies were discovered in Holmes Run Park. Since last fall across Northern Virginia seven have been killed by gang members, including a 15yearold girl. Most alarming to all of us is the increase in juvenile crime and violent crime. Reporter supervisor pat herty thinks some of the blame lies on the hundreds of unaccompanied undocumented minors who have come into the community in recent year who s find family in a gang. Many of which have no family connections, many of which cant read and write in their own language. They put them in our high schools and it puts a huge strain on our schools, on our Police Department. Reporter herty will removing some undocumented immigrant students, educating them instead in a residential setting like the one offered at Prince William countys youth for tomorrow campus. Can we get some of these undocumented minor children into federally funded programs that give them the help they need outside of our School System. Reporter School Supervisor penny gross says efforts must be revamped recognizing the nature of gangs has changed, social media the new recruitment tool, the gang crimes more brutal. This is something that i think the entire county, the entire region needs to be involved in. Four hours after the lyons sisters were supposed to be back home, their parents john and mary realized that something was wrong. John lyon picked up his kitchen phone and dialled 911. Within a couple of 412 was on its way to the lyon family home. Within moments, the Police Officer who responded for Montgomery County police said that he realized that the girls had not run away, but he said that he tried to soft peddle his concern because he didnt want to alarm john and mary lyons. During the early days of the investigation, police did put out a sketch of someone who came to be known as tape recorder man. It turns out that there was also another sketch that was generated, but that sketch was never released to the public. And we learned a little bit about why that was the case and how that second sketch actually looked a lot more like the man who will be going on trial for the lyons sisters murders.
