Over the course of a week the dixons family fortunes changed drastically because of a fire this past tuesday. And we had just left out of the house at 5 30 and we got a phone call from our landlord telling us our apartment was on fire. The accidental fire was pout quickly. Days after it was still evident there was some pretty significant damage done to the apartment. No one was injured. But it was the spirit of christmas that almost perished. Just before the fire they had wrapped their grandchildrens gifts. They were wrapped and ready. Everything is gone. Enter deputy chief pearson. I know there are a lot of toys that were in the living room area. He started making calls, nd organizations like the many reen corps, toys for tots and the Firefighters Union and the burn fund.
