Both were at the Ribbon Cutting off Georgia Avenue and Silver Springs. It is clear Silver Spring has come into its own with highrise condos and commercial buildings. But this is this low rise addition that makes it all a little more inclusive. Individuals who have experienced homelessness will leave their homelessness and stabilize their lives. Reporter and there are living quarters for the transitioning out of homelessness and a place for mealr and a Central Location for county services the new building replaces an old converted bakery. The developer built the new facility in exchange for the site of the old one. It all means that folks like these can be helped. Homelessness is down overall in montgomery county. Last count shows 980 living on the streets. And thats about 11 fewer than last year. And it is now legal to rent your home in Arlington County through Services Like airbnb. Today the board voted that people who want to do so must apply for a newly created accessory home stay permit. And its free. But here is the thing. It limits the number of guests a renter can ho live in their homest least half of the year. Permit applications will be available at the end of the year. Today was a day of empowerment for many women in Prince Georges County. 200 women of all ages gathered in upper marlboro. Talking about issues from Domestic Violence to Human Trafficking and mentoring and education. And a special session for High School Girls taught them the importance of following their dreams.
