absolutely gorgeous, great day for them to play outdoors. currently in the 60s and 70s, highs today low to middle 70s, washington, 71, gaithersburg, 66, leesburg at 68. here is the latest check of the satellite and radar did have some cloudiness around throughout the day today, those clouds continuing to break up, will become clear overnight tonight, winds die down. that means tomorrow morning, 7 a.m., temperatures around 56 degrees. 11 a.m., temperatures already jump up to that 70-degree mark, a great day to have lunch outdoors. 3:00, breezy 78. by 7:00, we are at a cool 72 degrees. 7 will be into next weekend. thursday, friday, saturday, temperatures are going to warm into the upper 80s. sunday, cool down a little bit, that chance of rain saturday night. a high on sun dive 84. erika, humidity pretty much low every day on the seven-day. >> loving tomorrow. thank you, amelia. up next, the redskins fall, but there is reason for optimism. jason pugh tells us why the guys in the locker room i don't know if a lot of people were expecting for the wind to be let out of the sails so early on. >> actually, i was really encouraged, because the dolphins really -- boomer esiason picked them top five power team in the league. i thought actually the first half, i was like, the skips are dominating and the stats just not on the scoreboard. so a painful outcome but still, you know, good signs. a new era kicks off with kirk cousins as the starter, but that team is left with the same old familiar feeling, could have, should have still, for a team picked to finish dead last in the league, plenty of encouraging moments. robert griffin iii string, inactive for the game. kirk cousins, first opening day since college. first quarter, redskins up 3-0. cousins awful play fake, rolling out. cousins going deep for desean jackson. d jacks, oh, you do not want to see. this he comes up holding his hamstring. did he not return. an mri tomorrow. second quarter now, skins with the third and 18. cousins steps up. gets out of the pocket, looking to make a play. but he is telegraphing and picked off by brent grimes. first interception of the season. but kirk not letting that get to him. he is wry siresilient this year says. great play by reed. both feet in. first touchdown since 2013. redskins up, 10-0. one of the many rg3 cut aways, he was loving it, under a minute to go in the first half, ryan tannehill drives miami 77 yards down the field, caps it off with an easy two-yard touchdown pass with richard matthews, making sure nobody wakes his baby. dolphins down 10-7. redskins defense solid against miami today. third quarter, skins bringing pressure, rookie preston smith, causes that fumble. guess what 23 yards later, he recovers it. the dolphins, they had it, no they don't. miami and preston smith, he has got it, three sacks and turnover for the defense, offense couldn't capitalize. fourth quart he, tied at ten, special teams letting the redskins down like they have the last few years. jarvis landry running right through everybody. landry taking 69 yards to the house. dolphins score 17 unanswered points, 17-10. late in the game, skins offensive move, pierre garcon, brice mccain makes a circus catch for the interception, ridiculous one-handed intervention. dolphins hold on, beat the redskins, 17-10. all right, for more, going to head out live to the home of the dolphins. i mean, the redskins. at least that's hyñ sounded today. how many fins fans were there at fedex field today, jason pugh? >> carol, there were too many fins fans here at fedex field. s here the problem. when you win seven games the last two seasons, you have to give your fans reason to come out and support you. they want to see the redskins prove it first. i will say this though about the fans, for the redskins, they were pleasantly surprised with how well the team played, especially in that first half against a very good miami dolphins team. the thing is, miami just made a few more plays especially in the second half that big-time punt return. but it was the little things for the redskins that kept them from winning this football game today. >> a lot of penalties. we drop to essentially on defense. we got to work on the small things. we do that we will be a healthy football team. nobody want to lose, but it's light at the end of the tunnel, man, you look at this football team. >> i didn't see a lot of heads down, they came off the field. there's a lot of plays there they returned a punt for a touchdown. they took the lead. i didn't see anybody hanging their heads and say, oh, here go again? bs or whatever, man they strap it had up and we took the next drive right down there and it was a bang bang play and they made it, we didn't. so, we are on the right track. it doesn't seem that way by you guy, but i know we are. >> we went out there and fought. it it was a tough game. get went out there and fought. that's something we will definitely do no matter what the score is. i mean, just the mentality this team has, all about execution in this league and we didn't execute. >> the redskins' defense gave us just 10 points today to miami. when you give up that few amount of points, would you expect to win the game, again that punt return turned out tonight differencemaker. carol have to get their act together. the st. louis rams come here one week from today and they just knocked off one of the best teams in the nfc in st. louis in -- excuse me, seattle, in overtime today. >> stuffing marshawn lynch in that final play. we will be talking about that here the problem. when you win seven games the last two seasons, you have to give your fans reason to come out and support you. they want to see the redskins prove it first. i will say this though about the fans, for the redskins, they were pleasantly surprised with how well the team played, especially in that first half against a very good miami dolphins team. the thing is, miami just made a few more plays especially in the second half that big-time punt return. but it was the little things for the redskins that kept them from winning this football game today. >> a lot of penalties. we drop to essentially on defense. we got to work on the small things. we do that we will be a healthy football team. nobody want to lose, but it's light at the end of the tunnel, man, you look at this football team. >> i didn't see a lot of heads down, they came off the field. there's a lot of plays there they returned a punt for a touchdown. they took the lead. i didn't see anybody hanging their heads and say, oh, here go again? bs or whatever, man they strap it had up and we took the next drive right down there and it was a bang bang play and they made it, we didn't. so, we are on the right track. it doesn't seem that way by you guy, but i know we are. >> we went out there and fought. it it was a tough game. get went out there and fought. that's something we will definitely do no matter what the score is. i mean, just the mentality this team has, all about execution in this league and we didn't execute. >> the redskins' defense gave us just 10 points today to miami. when you give up
