Found dead inside the house, a man, his wife their 10yearold son and the familys housekeeper. Sources say investigators believe the suspects had knowledge of this family and how they lived their daytoday lives. Sources believe that people in the house were bound and threatened until the man got what they were looking for. Now, there are two security cameras over there. His wife jody died inside their home on ridge drive in rockville. Montgomery county states attorney mccarthy said hell try the case himself. Prosecuting 31yearold Scott Tomaszewski two counts of firstdegree murder. Horrible crime. Wonderful people and family and been involved in this case from the very moment that this case was reported to us. Reporter the family hired wellknown rockville defense lawyer kudel trying to have thrown out of evidence the confession tomaszewski made in alaska to the vilardo murders. Obviously we have to look at all of the surrounding circumstances of that statement, what his condition was, what his mental status was at the time of the statement. Reporter this is the timeline to help police crack the case n. 1998 he was house sitting at the vilardos home when there was a burglary. He supplied evidence to help police at the time. Then the past april there was a burglary across the street on ridge drive. Detectives discovered that Tom Tomaszewski pawned items stolen in the burglary. He left with his parents for an alaskan cruise just hours after the murders. Police arrested him in juneau and found money in his possession with blood on it. For those who lived nearby news of the arrest is a relief. Your next door neighbor is your murderer . And for over 20 years theyve lived next door to each other . This is crazier than fiction.
