Court of appeals has just tossed out the conviction of a man accused of beating up and robbing an 83yearold woman. Surveillance video showed the beating back in may of 2005. The guys name is james dorsey. He confessed to the crime more than six years ago, but later he recanted his confession. He said it came after he had asked for a lawyer. The Appeals Court agreed with that. Prosecutors have not decided yet whether they will retry the case. Tonight a guilty plead from a correction officer who admitted he didnt get help for an inmate who was hanging in his cell. That inmate, ronny white, had been in jail for less than two days after being charged with killing a Police Officer. Prince georges county bureau chief trace use wilkins has more. Tracee . Mcintosh was charged with three federal charges in connection with the death of ronny white, but tonight he pled guilty to one of them. Mr. Mcintoshs guilty plea is perhaps more significant for what it does not say. It does not implicate mr. Mcintosh in ronny whites death. Reporter today Anthony Mcintosh entered a guilty plea for one of the three federal charges he faced in connection with the death of prisoner ronny white. Ronny whites death was tragic, but Anthony Mcintosh did not harm, kill or cause the death of ronny white. Reporter in judge of 2008 white was found did ed in his cell shortly after being incarcerated. His death was first ruled a homicide, then later ruled a possible suicide. Anthony mcintosh pleaded guilty to a crime called obstruction of justice the the justice was his false statement to a Police Officer on the day white died. Reporter he hid from cameras today. His attorneys say he is pleading guilty to lying about being the first to find white dead, but he is not pleading guilty to the federal charges that he violated whites civil rights by not trying to get him medical care or that he obstructed justice by filing a false report about the incident. Mr. Mcintosh represented he was not the first person to find him unresponsive. When in fact he did find him unresponsive reporter hes facing up to 20 years. Reporting live s. The woman was 30 years old and was approached near Brierwood Court and patriot drive. She screamed and then he ran away. 14 other groping inns dont have happened in Fairfax County since early in september. A retired firefights is being held as a hero after hess pulled a woman from a burning home. That fire started about 10 00 this morning on pond meadow lane. The former Prince Georges County firefighters ran to the house after he saw smoke coming out of there. He saw a dog frantically barking. The dog led him to the sliding glass door in the back. He looked inside and saw a disabled woman inside. That woman is now in the hospital with burns and smoke inhalation. The home is a total loss. Firefighters say the fire was tough to put out because the woman was a hoarder. A fallen officer is being remembered for the way he helped people on and off the job. Hundreds of people came to pay respects to officer chris young in woodbridge. He died on monday when his motorcycle was hit by a minivan. Fellow officers say he served out a passion to make lives better. He was even a member of the charity that raises money for families of fallen officers. Its very humbling to learn of an officer like chris young, someone of his caliber, who died in the line of duty. It just brings everything to light about why we do things.
