Reporter when this accident involving a Prince Georges County Police Cruiser first happened, dispatch could not locate the officer. It appears officer Christopher Brown left the scene. He has now been suspended and is facing multiple charges connected to dui and speeding after wrecking his cruiser in the southbound lanes of the beltway near pennsylvania avenue this morning. Prince georges county police say that it appears the officer clipped the back of a tractor trailer, spun out of control and hit the guardrail. No one was injured but this is not the with a dui. According to police, in 2012 the same officer was involved in another crash in his cruiser while under the influence. He was charged in that crash, plead guilty and was disciplined administratively. Now, the Prince Georges County police chief released a statement saying i find the circumstances surrounding this incident gravely troubling and i apologize to the community for the appearance of impropriety.
