Scott tomaszewski arrested in alaska charged in the deaths of richard and jody vilardo found dead back on mothers day. Reporter Scott Tomaszewski is a loner, lives here in the house behind me on ridge drive with his mother father and brother. Its just up from the vilardos home. Now, most of the people who live in this neighborhood couldnt tell me a thing about the family or scott but the vilardos apparently knew him and in the past trusted him to take care of their home. Heres what we have learned about 31yearold Scott Tomaszewski whens now charged in the double murder of dick and jody vilardo. Tomaszewski lives with his parents and brother. Down from the vilardos. He doesnt work and not clear if he had any college. For those who live nearby news of the arrest is a relief. That the police did such a good job in finding, total shock, total shock. My heart goes out to the both families. Reporter this is the timeline that helped police crack the case. In 1998 tomaszewski house sitting and there was a burglary and helped police at the time. Then this past april, a burglary across the street on ridge drive. Detectives discovered that tomaszewski pawned items stolen in that burglary. They rested him on a cruise ship with his parents in juneau alaska and found tomaszewski carrying who could be key evidence in the vilardo murder. And the money with blood on it was found on him in his wallet. Correct . In his possession thats correct. Reporter do we know that for sure the blood on the money is the vilardos . You know that has to be analyzed. Reporter Montgomery County states attorney is asking an Alaskan Court to extradite tomaszewski, send him back to m. D. M for trial. The Reston Association is appeal appealing last months decision by the zoning appeals to open the golf course to development. The association wants to ensure the area remains green space.
