We have some rain moving in this week and it could be hanging around for a while. Get ready. Chief meteorologist Doug Kammerer is tracking the radar now. Were not talking about rain, but a nuisance rain. Tonight we already have rain coming in across portions of our area back towards winchester, martinsburg. The rest dry for now. But we will see rain later this evening. Heres the first little area of rain back toward the west that will eventually become a noreaster just off the coast. Were going to talk much more about that, where this noreaster will set up, because you know a noreaster this time of year could mean really bad weather for us. This time, however, i think its a little too far north for that. Well explain and ill break it down for you and the timing for rain in a few minutes. See you in a bit. A star redskins player out for the season. And another quarterback shuffle. Plus, a serial killer captured and the Biggest Surprise was who led police to those crucial clues. And ebola in america. Today more than 40 people in texas are being released after spending the last three weeks in quarantine. D Doreen Gentzler with more. Its been 21 days since Thomas Eric Duncan was first diagnosed with the ebola virus and none of the dallas res dhoents had contact with him have been infected. 21 days is the incubation period for ebola. No symptoms within that time means no infection. So all those people isolated and placed on cdc watch lists can go back to normal lives now. Health Officials Say this is a reminder the virus can only be contracted through close contact with bodily fluids. Nobody who everybody was worried about has gotten sick. Really reinforces what we know. Should give people an understanding that what we have been saying, that it requires that kind of contact, is the way its is, in fact, playing out. So a lot of people have been cleared, but there are still more than 70 Health Care Workers who had contact with duncan who are still under close watch in the dallas area. Those two texas nurses diagnosed with ebola are still being isolated and treated in hospitals, one in atlanta and the other here in bethesda. You can learn more on our website, nbcwashington. Com. Jim . Doreen, thanks. Hey, have you watched the black list on nbc . You know the show is set here in washington and that means they try to use real icons here. We have seen local monuments and memorials. Tonight another d. C. Icon. The capitol and the Supreme Court have been evacuated. Metro police have quarantined a 15block area, reaching from constitution to pennsylvania avenue. No, that didnt really happen, folks. Back to reality. Thats our own wendy rieger making a cameo tonight, making a role she spent a lifetime preparing for. This episode here airs tonight at 10 00 here on nbc 4. So set your dvrs and you can play it back over and over again. Im already picking my emmy gown out. That was great. Weve got some weather coming in. A couple days of rain. This is not going to be bad, bad weather. But its going to be rather dreary and a little bit on the raw side. But were not talking about a storm system thats just going to dump rain on us. That is for the folks just to the north of up around the boston area. Thats why the storm is going to hit hard. Right now, 68 degrees, winds out of the south at 13 miles per hour. Those winds have been gusting over 20 throughout the afternoon in parts of the area. Giving us a little bit of a chill after this morning. Very cold numbers. But 6 8 not too bad. Average this time of year. Storm team 4 radar showing rain, not around the i95 corridor and the commute tonight should be no problem at all. Right through 7 00. But then were going to watch showers moving in right now back towards the west around i81. Back around winchester, frederick county, virginia, martinsbu martinsburg, panhandle, whartonville. You continue to see rain move toward the i81 corridor, across the blue ridge and eventually towards the rest of the area overnight tonight. This is all part of the storm system back toward the west that is going to be moving our way. Now that area of low pressure will bring us some shower activity tonight around 10 00, 11 00, so get ready, make sure you have the umbrella handy, just in case. Maybe the windshield wipers going if youre out driving around, 10 00, 11 00, 12 00. Tomorrow morning, the area of low pressure continues to move in and then another band moves in tomorrow afternoon. Tomorrow at 2 00, still dealing with sunshine and mixture of clouds. Tomorrow evening, thats when we see shower activity continuing to move in. That shower activity coming as an area of low pressure moves down around our region tomorrow, and then intensifies off the coast. This happens in our area every so often in the month of october, early november. We call them noreasters. This will be a bigtime noreaster for areas like new york, up towards the boston region. For us, were going to see showers and wind, but this is not going to be a big event. Veronica johnson in the storm center now, and vj, this is something that could be one of those events we talk about for a couple days. This one, however, not bringing a lot toward our area. Not at all. In fact, we have taken a look here and put together the rainfall totals for you. This is some of the latest data coming in. In fact, when you combine tuesdays and wednesdays rain together, it is not going to be a big event for us at all. There it is. Anywhere shaded in blue, about a half inch of rain. Thats areas around manassas right into d. C. There could be some 1 amounts around areasf st. Marys, calvert county, pax river, but for the most part, a tenth to half inch of rain and high impact areas, the easterly wind off the bay, the potomac as water piles in. And at times of high tide. So we might see minor flooding there. For the most part, not a lot of rain coming with this. Yeah, one thing we will get, though, is periods of rain, not that you have any, but turning windy and cool. When we talk about turning windy and cool, our numbers over the next couple days down from the 60s. Tomorrow, 67. Temperatures around 64 in gaithersburg. Well see that shower activity move in late tomorrow evening. So your impact forecast on your tuesday is going to be on the low side. Clouds on the increase with showers late. But that impact on wednesday, that will go up to moderate for sure as were not only expecting shower activity but look at the numbers. High of only 58 on wednesday. It will be very similar to yesterday. Remember how chilly yesterday was with the wind . But you add the clouds and shower activity, 80 chance of showers, nothing too heavy, but again, showers on wednesday. 60 degrees on thursday. Still rather windy. And 66 on friday. So its going to be a rather windy period. And i think the breezy conditions last right towards the weekend. Saturday and sunday, as the storm system meanders across parts of the northeast. Once again, not a huge deal for us, but it will have an impact on your weather tomorrow night through the day thursday and even into friday. Guys . All right. Thanks, doug.
