Just days after the districts 911 service went out for 90 minutes, news 4 learned there was a delay in dispatching fire and rescue teams to the scene of a man trapped inside a car. Beside that fallen tree. Police and passers by ended up helping the man as they waited for more help to arrive. Mark seagraves is live with the story youll see only on news 4. Reporter yeah, it turns out that the 911 dispatcher delayed for six minutes before sending Emergency Rescue crews to this location because she was apparently confused about where this location is. Meanwhile, bystanders and police on the scene lifted the tree off the car, rather than waiting for the d. C. Fire department. It was the height of evening rush hour when the tree fell, trapping the man inside this car. The first caller to 911 described the location of the incident as rock creek parkway just after the connecticut avenue exit. But the address or a cross street. After six minutes of back and forth between the 911 operator and the witness, units were dispatched. By that time, police and bystanders had lifted the huge tree off the car. I will tell you that there was some back and forth about where exactly this location was. The call taker seemed to me was being very diligent in trying to extract an exact location. It just took some time to get that out. Reporter now, i spoke with the woman who made that 911 call and i was allowed to listen to the 911 call itself. And it was abundantly clear to me the description of the location she was describing, rock creek parkway before the connecticut avenue exit. As for the victim in this case hes been upgraded to stable condition. Thank you. In seven minutes were gog press Moderator Chuck Todd about Donald Trumps visit to mexico. Well get his perspective on trumps immigration policy. Hes got another big speech ahead tonight and whether Hillary Clinton will meet with the mexican president. Also, what looks like a money saving choice, could actually be a scam. And wh you should look for. At female teacher who can name the third president . Male teacher and the largest planet . Male teacher someone we havent heard from. Female teacher anyone else . Through internet essentials, comcast has connected more than 3 Million People in need to low cost, high Speed Internet at home, helping to make sure that every hand in the classroom goes up. Male teacher okay, veronica. Le teacher excellent. Welcome to a brighter future. Welcome to it all. Comcast. Another hot and humid day today. And for the most part storm team 4 radar mainly dry. Cant rule out a shower or thunderstorm tonight. Most of us are dry. Have the umbrella ready tomorrow. Heres the planner for the kids as they head off to the bus stop. 73 degrees and well have plenty of clouds throughout the day on thursday. Maybe a shower or two. But most of the day looking dry. Its going to be cooler. A high tomorrow of 85 degrees. Thats going to be when youre picking the kids up. After School Activities tomorrow looking fine. Recess slight chance its indoors with a shower possible and around 78. Still tee shirt weather tomorrow. Well continue to track more comfortable air moving in on friday. Then, again, were likely impacted by Tropical Storm hermine over labor day. More on the timing and impact coming up in a little bit. Big weather day, thank you. A scam alert for you fi at 4. Food lion is warning its customers about a fake coupon thats making its way around social media. It looks like the real deal. Heres what it looks like, the fake coupon circulating on facebook claims you can take 90 off any purchase to celebrate the stores 60th anniversary. Food lion says if you see it dont click on it or share it. The chain is working to have it removed from facebook. More local neighborhoods are getting sprayed for mosquitos. Well tell you where youre being warned to stay inside. And well take a live look down in florida for a look at the storm. We just learned is going to impact us. Were coming right back on well, we are just hours away from Donald Trumps big speech outlining his immigration policy. This comes after todays last minute trip to mexico. Mexicos president inviting both president ial candidates to meet with him today. Trumps visit drawing immediate backlash from former mexican official and ordinary citizens. Meet the process Moderator Chuck Todd joins us, hes live in new york city. Do we know what they talked about or how long they talked . We dont know yet. We havent seen him yet. I think thats something were going to learn. This was probably a riskier political meeting for the president of mexico than it was for donald trump. The single most may very well be donald trump. The level of ridicule he receives doesnt matter theres no breakdown by class or education or anything like that. It is almost universal when it comes to anger and hatred at donald trump. So it is a risk more for the sitting president than for trump. I thought the move was kind of shrewd, it caught the Clinton Campaign off guard. Its become the dominant story of the day. It only elevates, you know, its about theatrics a little bit. So had theater of the presidency, trump looking the part, standing next to a world leader. And of course, it raises expectations and brings more attention to his immigration speech tonight. Ultimately its the details of the speech that are going to dictate whether this shift that hes trying to make on immigration and whether its about appealing to hispanics or appealing to skeptical suburban speech not the photo ops this afternoon. We were showing some live pictures of the president in mexico meet ing with trump. Any sense that Hillary Clinton might take the mexican president up on his offer to come down there herself . She was blasting trump today. You know, its interesting. Ill be curious to see if she does. Obviously the mexican president invited both candidates to come visit. I think the idea of clinton looking like shes following the lead of trump is something the Clinton Campaign is going to avoid. My guess, my best educated guess is they dont do that. You know, this has been a frustration of the Clinton Campaign. As much as they think that there are a lot of ways that trump presents them opportunities in order to win this election. His unpredictability and savviness in sort of taking control of a news cycle like that is something that has them up ended a little bit. I dont think they will try to follow trumps lead on these their own path. But a day like today, you know, she gave a big speech on american exceptionalism i think they thought that was going to drive the day. It did not. Thanks so much. All right, wendy, thank you. Well be anxious to see what trump says tonight about his immigration speech. Thanks so much. Well see you on nightly. Turning back to your forecast and all eyes on florida. But the con Raymond James stadium if the game would get played at 8 00 p. M. I reached out to the nfl offices in new york earlier they said the game will go on as scheduled. That could change if the weather conditions worsen throughout the day here in tampa. I did get a chance to walk the field for a little bit. The field is actually in pretty good shape, guys.
