The man they say didnt try to rob the bank but say he was inside the bank acting erratically. Employees got concerned and called 911 for help. They said when the police got to the scene the man had a knife in his hand and then came gun fire. Here now from captain darren frank with the Montgomery County police. Montgomery county Police Received a call for a trespasser at the Capital One Bank here. Officers were dispatched and at approximately 11 58 two officers arrived on scene and made contact with a black male subject who we believe to be of middle age. The suspect immediately produced a weapon, would not comply with the officers and the officers were forced to use their Service Weapon and shoot the subject. Reporter that man was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police are going through Security Camera video here at the bank talking to witnesses trying to piece together how this all came about. I talked to a man who was inside the bank when it happened. The child being treated and paramedics rushing to the hospital. It happened at the rockville swim center, a public pool. Chopper 4 flew over the scene this afternoon. The pool surrounded by yellow tape with indoor and outdoor pools at the venue. Police officers are there investigating and talking to witnesses. New at 4 00 today a man charged with leaving his wheelchair bound mother in a hot car while he gambled. It happened at the maryland live casino. Police tell us they were called there yesterday by someone who noticed a 98yearold woman inside a van in a garage. Officers say they investigated and learned she had been alone for nearly five hours. Her 67yearold son was arrested. He is charged now with neglect of a vulnerable adult. Police say the woman is okay and is now with her daughter. This afternoon we get our first look at the parents accused of keeping their two adult sons who have autism locked up for six years. Janice and john land are facing child abuse and false imprisonment charges. Police say they kept their 22yearold autistic son inside a room in a home with a dead bolt lock. Police found the boys in deplorable conditions. A tile floor with only a bed and a comforter and a strong smell of urine in the room, just a small window for light. Police are looking for the man seen in this Surveillance Video as they continue to search for clues in the killing of a Popular Store owner on the 4th of july. They are not calling him a suspect but investigators say he was on the store on colorado avenue. Two hours before two gun men came in and demanded money. The owner died after being hit in the head during that robbery. His wife was also attacked but survived. Now to the crash of Malaysia Airlines flight 17. Investigators collecting evidence at three separate crime scenes after a man was found dead behind a Shopping Center. Megan mcgrath was there when a relative of the victim made an emotional appeal to find the killer. Officer, find whoever killed my cousin. Find him. Reporter a relative of the victim came to huron avenue to see what happened for himself. I have no words for this. Whoever killed my cousin, i want them to find whoever killed my cousin. Reporter investigators are working to figure that out. No small job because there are three separate crime scenes. Police say they are connected but wont say how. First is the alley behind the Shopping Center on huron avenue. A 911 call brought police there just before 2 00 in the morning. That is where the mans body was found. He just wasnt moving so i called the police. Reporter a witness in the alley and didnt want to be identified said the victim got into an argument with several people. I saw two guys fighting and then they left. And then i saw the girl and four other guys. And thats when i left. Thats when i left. Then when i came back i saw somebody laying in the alley and it was him. Reporter as police collected evidence another team did the same down the street at the Regency Court apartments. There are bloody footprints on the sidewalk in front of it. And across the parking lot more crime tape and more red shoe prints. There are a number of surveillance cameras in the area including a couple on the liquor store as well as another one on the building around the corner. Police are looking into the possibility that other people may have been hurt in that assault. Montgomery county Public SchoolBoard Members could be stripped of their taxpayer funded Government Credit cards. A special Panel Investigating recent purchases recommends the county do away with the cards and overhaul how members spend taxpayer money. The latest fallout after a series of reports by the news 4 iteam. Some School Board Members in Montgomery County recently used credit cards for very pricey and controversial meals for themselves. The news 4 iteam obtained and revealed the meals recently. The School Boards chief of staff used his card to buy a 500 dinner for himself and for some Board Members, prime rib, lobster tail, sea bass. A year earlier in ocean city we found he did the same. A 390 dinner for Board Members. We also found Board Members used their cards for more than 100 meals in and around district headquarters and used cards to book overnight hotel rooms in d. C. , hotels that were a short metro ride away on the red line. The School District set up a special panel to recommend changes. Today they recommended eliminating the cards and putting a cap on those out of town travel expenses. The Montgomery CountySchool Board Meets monday to vote on the changes. Back to you. The fetus of women in the last trimester of pregnancy were shown to recognize a rhyme. The women were told to read the rhyme out loud three times a day for six weeks. When a stranger reads it out loud the babys heart rate slowed. Researchers say it showed the baby was familiar with the rhyme and singing out loud can help the baby learn. New moms who work outside the home according to the study the job is getting in the way of breast feeding. Researchers at the cdc looked at mothers who went back to work within six weeks of having the baby. A third of them planned to breast feed for six months but did not continue because of work. Scientists at Duke University studied nearly 200 overweight women split into two groups. One got regular help with exercise and setting goals. After a year only 11 reported being depressed.
