Customs and Border Protection says a systemwide outage led to delays at several major airports. News 4s Darcy Spencer is live at dulles with a look at the situation there. Reporter definitely some bad timing there, were told that that outage lasted for four hours. All systems are back on line now but i talked to passengers tonight. There were major delays. George sanker is waiting for Exchange Students to china at Dulles International airport. It was two hours and counting just to get through customs. We have a couple of students coming out hopefully soon and they have been there a couple of hours trying to get through the system and it has been really jammed up. Reporter u. S. Border patrol and customs confirmed there were outages at various airports, some travellers trying to get into the country were being processed by hand. There was a computer glitch, they said some of the computers were down. Reporter what do you think about it . Its frustrating, but security after all. Reporter at Miami International airport more than 30 flights were cancelled. And a couple of passengers passed out while waiting. And there are delays from atlanta. Many customers are just trying to get home. We were in line for an hour and 38 minutes. Reporter a customs a said in a statement that agents are processing traveller as quickly as possible while maintaining a high level of security. It seems as if you have passports and passport control they should be able to scan, look at you and identify you and move you through. It was not happening so somewhere the process was broken. First, United Airlines is trying to figure out how a baggage handler becameni lockedn a cargo hold on a flight to dulles, happening on an 82minute flight from charlotte to atlanta, once the plane landed the man appeared to be okay, and he had on a work uniform, but initially there were concerns if he was actually a baggage handle there were questions on his charlotte id. Reporter the man was detained while representatives from the tsa, faa and United Airlines all joined the investigation. United confirmed late today the incident.
