maryland with the latest tonight. shamari? >> reporter: good evening, jim and angie. prince georges county police are searching for the man who killed the 7-eleven employee. behind me is a makeshift shrine to the man the entire community called a nice guy. tonight keith turner is his favorite 7-eleven employee was shot and killed during an attempted robbery saturday morning. >> you just asked the guy for what you wanted and he would get it. he didn't have to kill this guy for it. he took an innocent life. >> reporter: they received new surveillance video from a nearby comfort inn. no one was hurt during that robbery. >> this guy had nothing better to do than to come out and kill somebody at a 7-eleven. >> police were called to the 7-eleven around 5:00 in the morning. 31-year-old taiwo odunole was on the ground, suffering from a gunshot wound. friends and family were sad. >> very sad. he had only been here a couple months and he was such a sweet gentleman. i would come in here in the morning with my >> just to explain the process of the report, we reached out to his brother and people at the hotel who did not want to talk. they said we should talk to police. police urge anyone who has any information about what happened, they should give them a call. they are offering $2500 for anything that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case. people who live out here tell me they plan on having a car wash to add more money to the reward. people will bring their cars here, wash them, raise money, and they hope that can go to the reward so that in turn can lead to more tips which would lead subsequently to an arrest. live here in clinton, i'm shamari stone, news4. more officers are on patrol around the key bridge tonight after an attempted sexual assault on the ar miss advertise side. a 27-year-old woman was walking on the bridge to get to her home in the victim was unable to fight back and free herself. the man walked back towards d.c. it is suggested to walk with another person if you plan on using that bridge late at night. metro transit police want to know if you know any of these three men. this happened sunday around 6:15 at or near the station. the robbers got away with a cell phone. family and friends pay their respects tonight to the son of the late marion barry. funeral service for christopher barry were held this evening. d.c. maryland yo this community and this city. >> reporter: christopher barry died earlier this month from an apparent drug overdose. he was 36 years old. news for your health tonight. two senior senators are demanding that a drug company better explain how the price of ep epipen has more than quadrupled. the life-saving drug is four times as much today. it reduces swelling and reopens airways after severe allergic reaction. now they're asking the cdc to investigate the drug maker. the judiciary committee wrote them demanding to know how much they paid for advertising this parents that feel the pinch. senator grassley says many of the children who are prescribed epipens are covered by medicaid, therefore, the taxpayers are picking up the tab for this medication. while myron hasn't responded to today's letters, they have made improvements to the epipen and the price reflects that value. in the newsroom, i'm chris lawrence. to politics now and to questions about whether donald trump has changed his plans to deport all undocumented immigrants. this weekend trump's campaign manager said the plan was still tbd, to be determined. tonight in ohio, trump still vowed to build a wall but got infected. it is the first case of west nile virus in the state this year. and it is the spread of the zika virus that's raising a concern in the state of florida. today the governor asked for more emergency funding and pushed congress to help out. the start of the new school year is only adding to the urgency. students there spraying down way lot of bug repellant before heading into class today. the fear is that a child would come home infected and then the fetus could pass the virus to an expecting stop rubella 50 years ago. >> if a pregnant woman got infected with rubella, the for this kind of weather. it hasn't been this nice since june, but i'm tracking the tonight prince georges county fire investigators are trying to figure out what started this massive fire at a warehouse that took 60 firefighters to get this 3-alarm blaze under control here at an abc supply company in gaithersburg. firefighters were concerned the blaze would reach the combustive supplies in the warehouse, including foam insulation that's toxic when it melts. but thankfully the fire was contained to an open logged dad dock. no one was hurt. it's almost enough to make you cringe. ryan lochte may lose as much as $10 million over his lifetime because of his exaggeration in rio. four sponsors dropped the swimmer today. speedo was first, a skin care company. in addition to losing live on the plaza right after news4 today. nbc4 responds recently told you about a computer tech scam. tonight we have some new information about the scam we exposed and what our team found was surprising. consumer reporter susan hogan joins us with what she's learned. >> your computer is suddenly frozen and a pop-up message warns you've been hacked. a virginia woman paid $300 to get it fixed. but what she didn't realize, it was all a scam. how we know? listen to this. it happened when diane hayes was on line shopping. warning messages and blaring fr a loud, loud noise and i couldn't stop it. i thought, what is happening? >> reporter: the pop-up message, she'd been hacked, so she called the toll-free number on the screen. what diane heard next frightened her. >> your computer has been compromised. you may have been hacked into. your e-mails and your entire system. and i said, oh mirks wo, my worn help me? they said, yes, absolutely. >> diane immediately agreed to pay $300 for tech support. but as soon as she hung up -- >> i said something is not right here. >> reporter: she realized she had probably been scammed. so we called that same toll-free number and the person who answered claimed to be john located in the united states. >> we provide technical support for all the devices. >> we asked if his services are legitimate or just a big scam. >> no, sir, it's not like that. we are not doing that type of business. >> reporter: but it turns out it is a scam. john wasn't in the uni isn't john. we know this because we tracked down the owner of the company by phone. he's actually in maryland. he apologized to us and claimed unethical employees from india are to blame and they're the ones pushing those pop-up ads to lure unsuspecting customers like diane. >> it's pervasive. and it's not just in the u.s. >> reporter: federal investigators say it's a growing scam that hundreds of thousands of people fall victim to every year around the world. and anyone could be their next target. >> we have not seen any real targeting because they cold call mass amounts of consumers, and it's just whoever will take the bait, essentially. >> reporter: and the ftc has recordings to prove it. >> i see something that says warning and something that says error. >> jesus, did you say some warning? my good luck, madam. it would be my you, please do not try to click on any of them, okay? >> reporter: after we tracked down the tech company diane called, the owner took down the website and the toll free number disconnected. the red flags of becoming a victim, be skeptical of computer pop-ups or telephone calls warning you've been hacked, and only use tech experts from companies you know. i'm susan hogan, news4. okay, well, let's talk about the weather today. the first day of the work week and what a beautiful one it was. >> it delivered. we have been sweltering for weeks on end, and finally -- >> i know, right? >> it's funny how quickly the tables turn when the weather is nice. everybody then loves the meteorologist. our high today was 85. tomorrow pretty much the exact same kind of weather. we had a nice breeze today. it won't be as breezy tomorrow but still plenty of sunshine. humidity levels are low again. this is the best weather we've had in school, feeling very much like back to school weather. not only that, but it's going to be dry in our weather for days on end. good idea to get the car washed. we're really not talking about any rain over the weekend, but talk about the weekend, it is looking hot, around 90, but thankfully not too humid for whatever your plans are. currently temperatures are coming in at the 60s and 70s, washington one of the warmer spots at 75. you can see a lot of the suburbs already down in the low 60s. it will be a fabulous start tomorrow morning. 7:00 a.m. will start off at 67 and that's here in the district. the suburbs will start off around 60 degrees, even some upper 50s in areas like frederick and gaithersburg. annapolis starting off the day at 68, annapolis at 60. a little crisp. by lunchtime it's gorgeous, low humidity, around 85 and we'll hit that at 4:00 in the afternoon. it's windows open weather tomorrow once again. 8:00 p.m., we're at 78 degrees the only downfall, i think, to the forecast is the pollen report. if you notice you're a little stuffy, you're sneezing more, your eyes are itchy, it's probably the ragweed out there. i have more on this on my facebook and twitter pages. unfortunately, no rain in the forecast to wash out that pollen count. but the tuesday outlook looking
