Clear the gutters and downspouts and check your sump pump and move your valuables off the basement floor if youre prone to an area of flooding, make sure you take precautions tomorrow. By friday we have the noreaster set up and High Pressure and low pressure off the coast, these combining with the northeasterly winds coming in, thats all you need for a noreaster and will bring major coastal flooding to all areas and beach erosion towards the beaches. I mentioned the coastal flooding pertaining to the potomac, georgetown, alexandra and chesapeake and annapolis. Winds to 40 miles an hour on the inland areas, 36 inches of rein and some could pick up more than that. Thats the noreaster. Heres what we dont know, where is joaquin going . It is now a category 3 hurricane and current winds 150 miles an hour. Its still moving to the southwest at 6 miles an hour. It has not made that turn and will head into the bahamas, part of the bahamas and expected to make that turn as a category 4 storm, 120 miles an hour wind and will weaken, just off the coast of florida into our region as category 1 and Tropical Storm by the time it gets towards us. Theres really two scenarios, one goes to north carolina, the other goes out to sea.
