Back to the weather now and a live look over the National Mall where all of the smithsonian museums but one will be closed tomorrow because of the snow. The air and space museum will keep doors open. And now were seeing the changeover that will continue to occur as the colder air begins to move on. Well widen out a bit and show you how the storm is shaping up towards the west. You can see the train of moisture that continues to move and further to the south and west, here is where the storm is. The main storm system down here towards arkansas making its way our way. We got this storm that will make its way in here probably for the next 12 to 18 hours and thats why these snow totals will be on the high side. 36 in leesburg, 39 in washington above the pennsylvania boarder, temperatures into the mid 20s. Our numbers will continue to fall. The rain to the south. We have the icing. This map points the picture well with snow to the north and west. Just over the next couple hours, we go from the ice to the snow in and around the d. C. Metro, over towards indianapolis and once the temperatures get below freezing, this is going to stick quickly to the roads. So well watch that as it moves through tomorrow morning. 6 00 a. M. , everybody dealing with the snow. Some of it on the heavy side especially from 66 and 50 to the south including the d. C. Metro could see ice around 6 00 a. M. And by 11 00 or 10 00 everybody is seeing snow and its accumulating down to the south of the d. C. Metro area. Six to ten inches and this is a wide area that gets six to ten inches to the north. Haserstown, martinsburg, maybe three to six towards vista but here around d. C. Including buoy and clinton and fairfax, six to ten inches and up towards the north. Frederick around the sixinch mark and haserstown and three to six inch mark. Youre not going to see the most of this. The biggest areas will be down to the south. Wood bridge, waldorf, hunting town, you could see six to ten inches and some a foot, maybe more as far as that is concerned, maybe upwards of 12 to 14isms if it gets going and we could see thundersnow out of this. This is a dynamic system that will continue to move in across the region. The winter storm impact, six to ten inches, high impact. We got that at 60 . 10 to 12 for some of you and 20 chance of that and 20 chance the numbers could come down but holding firm at the six to ten inch mark. Across the area, 28 for a temperature tomorrow. Temperatures will fall rapidly into the teens by 3 00, 4 00. This is cold air. Most of you will be near zero early Tuesday Morning with a high of 27. 36 on wednesday. We start to break out of it a bit wednesday and another chance of rain, possible big storm here as temperatures move into the 50s. Right now that storm is looking like it will be off the coast for the most part, but thats another one that we will be watching, so tomorrow morning, chuck bell will be in, tom coming in earlier this morning, they will be up at 4 00 i believe.
