we're told it appears this fire started in the basement. but when firefighters arrived, the man who was inside the house was already on the outside of the house. a neighbor explains to us what was going on. >> i ran outside and saw that the fire was there. i gathered a small hose along with another neighbor and we just started spraying the front of the house because that's where the fire was at. the man of the house was outside running around kind of frantic. but then the firefighters arrived and took over. and they pulled the lady out maybe 10 minutes later. >> now, again, that woman is described to be in severe condition when she was originally taken out of the house she was not responsive. she's now at the hospital and they are working with her. the firefighters who received injuries, their injuries are described as minor. the man who received injuries is expected to recover. he was not that bad when he left the scene. tracee wilkins live this morning. back to you all in with another look at traffic. back to you. it took the jury less than an hour to convict norwood guilty of first degree murder. megan? >> reporter: joe, they had two choices, premeditated first degree murder or second degree murder. and the jury went with first degree murder. and it didn't take them long. about an hour to reach that verdict. now, the jury went behind closed doors. the very first vote they took was unanimous. they talked about it some more and then they handed dn that verdict. 15a said the duration of the attack and the way it was carried out sweupbs convinced them this was a premeditated murder. it was the verdict they had been hoping for. they were in the courtroom when the verdict was handed down. murray's mother broke out into tears. >> numbness but gratefulness to the jury. >> more than anything, i know the trauma our family has been through. i want no other family to go through this. >> reporter: a very difficult time for the murray family. they were in the courtroom when very gruesome photos of their daughter were shown. they listened to very difficult testimony from the medical examiner and others detailing how their daughter died. so it was very emotional for them yesterday after this verdict was handed down. now, brittany norwood's attorney argued his client lost it in an argument, that it was not premeditated. in the end the jury did not buy that argument. they went with first degree murder. norwood faces potential life in prison without parole. back to you in the studio. >> megan, thanks very much. still to come, from inside the jury man swerved to avoid hitting a deer. that forced a driver of an suv behind him to swerve and crash into a tree. the woman in the suv was hurt when a pile of tools hit her, including a table saw. her name and condition are not being released at this time. curtis lopez arrived in montgomery county yesterday afternoon after spending three weeks locked up in charlotte, north carolina. police arrested him last month after finding the body of jane mccain in her germantown home. charges are also expected soon in the death of mccain's son william, whose body was found in a wooded area in clarksburg after a week-long search. a woman has used her father's credit card. look at the goods stacked inside and outside the home near fredericksburg. they uncovered the scam when a delivery company could not get a signature for a package. a protective order has now been issued to keep the woman away from her father and his home. president obama is in france for a key economic summit. the president is meeting with other world leaders in good cannes for the g-20 summit. he already met with nicolas sarkozy. the u.s. can offer unique insight into the issue after dealing with its own financial crisis over the last three years. greece's debt crisis is one of the main items on the agenda at this week's g-20 summit in france. and the uncertainty facing the bailout package is taking its toll on murray. he elected not to take the stand. a denies team will try to repair potentially damaging testimony from their witness. murray drew up the syringe of propofol that jackson may have died from. murray could face up to four years in prison and have his medical license revoked if he is found guilty. lindsay lohan has less than a week to turn herself in to police. judge sentenced her to 30 days in jail for violating probation on a necklace theft conviction. but the actress may not even spend one day in jail. the sheriff says the jail is so overcrowded lohan may be released after a few hours. after she is released from jail she will have to finish her community service at the l.a. morgue. >> one of the first supporters of the gay rights movement will be remembered. a memorial service from have breaking news. four people, including two firefighters, are in the hospital this morning with injuries from a serious house fire. the flames broke out around 4:00 this morning in the 4700 block
