will be getting pretty warm today sweeping in from the south and west. memphis, 65 degrees. there's a huge mild air mass from the mississippi river east. closer to us, we've had temperatures in the low to mid-50s in charles and prince williams, stafford and spotsylvania as well as fairfax, montgomery, prince george's county. all around the region, low and mid-50s, including the mountains. only a few locations there down in the 40s. we do have a few of these high clouds coming in over the moon, over the shenandoah valley, and into the mountains. we'll have them coming over us off and on through the day. here's your day planner for this thursday. we'll have our temperatures soaring to the 60s by noon and clouding up this afternoon. a blustery wind sweeping in out of the southwest, getting us into the low 70s by mid afternoon. a look at the evening planner in ten minutes. danella has a look at the traffic, good morning. >> good morning. it's looking great. travel speeds around our area, not seeing any areas. right now we'll take a check at route 50. we're clear right now. i'll give you a live look at 301. traveling eastbound and web westbound, very light. only taking eight minutes making your way from 301 connecting to the beltway. if you're taking the beltway, volume in this area still very light on the inner loop and outer loop. traveling outer loop speeds making your way from 50 to i-95. you're at the 57 miles an hour. taking nine minutes to make that trip and they look good with no reported delays. i also have to check out what aaron was talking about. eun, would you believe he's talking about a computer that actually has a floppy disk. aaron, how do you expect us to know this? >> you don't remember the apple 2-e? >> no, i had to look it up on the internet. eun, don't feel bad. i have no idea what this guy is talking about. we'll be back in ten with another look at your traffic. >> new this morning firefighters are trying to figure out what spark add small fire at the fbi building in the northwest. we're told it started in a trash can in one of the upper floors of the building. it was quickly put out and no one was hurt. livingston road in oxon hill opened this hour. it had to be closed overnight when car plowed into utility pole. take a look here. that crash took down power lines. pepco crews worked on it to make sure nobody was in danger. with i're still working to find out from the police what exactly caused the accident. this morning montgomery county police are searching for two drivers who may have been racing and caused an accident. police believe a silver car and a green and white mini cooper hit a nissan when it was trying to change lanes yesterday afternoon. the driver of that vehicle, 31-year-old nelvis garcia flipped her car onto the sidewalk and died from her injuries. police are asking for any help from anyone who may have seen that crash. a man suffered burns from a fire at a senior building. it happened in glen burney. dozens of residents had to be evacuated there. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. four firefighters were hurt in a car crash on their way to battle the fire. they're all expected to be okay. evacuation stones around the nation's 65 nuclear power planls could be skpamding. a panel of experts asem aboutled by the american nuclear society is making the recommendation in a report released today. it's part of a larger analysis of nuclear disasters in japan last year. they say nuclear oversight is adequate enough to protect human public interest and health and safety but emergency plans at each nigh clear site should be customized. that could mean a 10-mile evacuation zone could be expanded. newt gingrich is counting on the south to help keep his white house hopes alive. his campaign is focusing on mississippi and alabama, which hold their primaries next tuesday. gingrich is looking to louisiana this month and texas after that. he won just a single state on super tuesday, and it was his home state of georgia. rick santorum is hoping next week's primaries are newt gingrich's last scab. he's telling supporters help me beat newt and the republican contest becomes a two-man race. santorum and gingrich are trying to win over conservatives ahead of the mississippi primary. earlier this week santorum's camp urged him to drop out. gingrich is staying in the race. virginia democrats have a list of demands they want addressed before they approve a new budge. it includes a demand for $300 million to fund the second phase of the dulles rail project, $65 million to keep pay in northern virginia schools competitive, a plan to revamp the gas tax, and funds to pay for ultrasounds women in the state will now have to pay to getten abortion. they'll have to pass it or extend the legislative session. the governor did sign off on that controversial bill to have women get an ultrasound before getting an abortion. providers across the state have to start complying this july. that bill originally called for a more invasive type of ultrasound. supporters say the law ensures women are fully informed about their fetuses before they decide whether to abort them. critics say that measure invais women's rights and privacy. a new report shows d.c. has one of the highest levels of income inequality. the report says the top 5% of households here in the district average h $73,000 in 2010. that is the highest among the 50 largest cities in the country. on average, the top earners in the u.s. brought home $292. the poorest d.c. households have an average of $9,100 and according to the d.c. fiscal policy institute, only atlanta and boston had higher levels of income in equality. as of right now virginia's state fair is canceled this year. that's because the group that runs the event is bankrupt. it's now up to a court to decide what happens next. the state fair is a 156-year-old tra diagnosis dition in virgini. it recently took place in kings domini dominion. >> have you been to the virginia state fair?
