"opportunity" will take photos of rocks inside the crater, send the photos back with more information about that planet's history. it will also look for evidence of water and other potential signs that there could be life or that life at least could survive on mars. that will be interesting, wouldn't it? >> that would be totally fascinating. we have been really blessed with some nice stuff. got one more, right? >> we have money were. it's one of those days that you just want to get outside, no matter what you're doing, roll the windows down in the car, take the convertible out, take a bike ride, whatever. just get outside. we have one more tomorrow. tomorrow may actually be even nicer than today. high temperature today reached 89 degrees. above average for 26 straight days. i think tomorrow will be a little bit below average. temperatures around 86 degrees with our low temperature a lot cooler. right now, we're at 78 degrees. the winds are calm. dew point of 58. we could drop into the 60s tonight inside the city. look at gaithersburg, already 64. 66 in martinsburg. 68 in culpepper. you're going to wake up to temperatures in the 50s in many locations tomorrow morning. that's something we haven't felt in quite sometime. satellite and radar, not really even a cloud in the sky, from washington all the way back toward the great lakes, it is high and dry and clear. we saw the high pressure and fantastic weather today. tomorrow, the area of high pressure slides off a little bit to the east but still dominates our region. so that fantastic weather will stick around one more day. by saturday, the area of high pressure moves off, here comes our area of low pressure. i think most of saturday will be dry, especially along the i-95 corridor. but the rain will move in from the west and it will move in late in the day. if you're moving towards the western portions of maryland, maybe west virginia or western virginia, you'll see the rain a little bit earlier saturday. to the east, might be a good day on saturday. on sunday, all bets are off. just about everybody seeing rain and maybe some thunder and maybe a lot of rain. that's the good news. some location, maybe 1 to 2 inches of rain. your forecast tomorrow morning, clear skies. just fantastic. 54 in some of the cooler suburbs to about 66 in the city. tomorrow afternoon, temperatures up around 83 to about 87 degrees. another beauty. really just about perfect for this time of year. if you're thinking about hiding towards the beaches, i think saturday is going to be a pretty nice beach day. water temperature down there is close to 80 degrees. but on sunday, expect a fairly rainy day and a fairly windy day with winds gusting upwards of 25 miles an hour. maybe it's a day trip during the day on saturday. four-day forecast, 83 degrees for a high on sunday with that rain. then 84 on monday. i think we'll see a chance for rain on monday. but then next week, also looking good, highs remain only in the 80s. >> not bad. not a single 9 up there on that board. we like that. coming up tonight, some local investigators cracked a credit card scam that went global. and in sports, an update on the nats' michael morse who was hit by a pitch today. this i watched a little bit of the ravens and the eagles tonight. ray lewis was in there for a lot longer than i expected him to be. >> it was a little sloppy, though. did you notice all the penalties? he had four catches for 47 yards. vance is already putting him in the hall of fame. michael vick, deep to riley cooper. that's a pretty good catch, too. 42-yard gain leads to a touchdown. vick and the eagles beat the ravens 13-6. let's go to san diego. chargers and the seahawks. this guy needs something to wake him up. they're talking about moving the chargers out of san diego. what a night it was for this young man, brian walter spent last year on the practice squad. he's from colgate. not exactly a powerhouse. but he played like it tonight. 103 yards. he takes it to the house. he is pumped. how about the coach? he's getting into it, too. yeah. but the seahawks come back to beat the chargers 24-17. josh portis is playing for them. it is the redskins and the steelers tomorrow night right here on nbc 4. stay with us after the game for a complete postgame report as well. great news for the nationals. michael morse is okay. the nats' best hitter this year, hit in the elbow with a pitch. he had to leave the game. x-rays at the hospital were negative. so he's just listed as day to day. as for the game, close but no cigar. let's go to chicago. ryan dempster, the pitcher, dempster sends this one into the elbow. that smarts, doesn't it? michael morse, you could tell was in obvious pain. he just didn't have a chance up and in to get out of the way, he tries at the last minute. but he's okay. day to day, no telling when he will be out there. hopefully soon. zimmerman pitching well. seven strikeouts. in the bottom of the seventh, facing aramis ramirez, and that is gone with a runner on. that's pretty much game, set, match. the first of back-to-back home runs zimmerman gives up in the innings. nationals lose 4-3. they are in philadelphia tomorrow. golf time now. steve stricker stole the show at the pga championship firing a record-tying 63. but stricker did not steal the headlines. rory mcilroy had a bruised wrist. and tiger may have a bruised ego. he shot a 7 over 77. tiger woods on the par 4 6th hole right here, from the bunker, he's already 4 over. and uh-oh, wouldn't you know this one is going in the drink? he double bogeyed the hole. he has five bogeys and three doubles to finish with a 7 over 77, his worst round ever at the pga championship. this is mcilroy, he injured his wrist early. look at all that tape. he was fearless. he attacked it. had some good shots like this one out of the sand. rory finishes at even par for the round, battling all day long. the round, though, did belong to this man, steve stricker putting for birdie. gets that thing to go in. stricker shoots a 7 under 63. that ties a major championship record. he leads by 2 going into round two tomorrow.
