Reporter before he was slaughter five officers and wound seven others, Micah Johnson was described as a loner. His Facebook Page reflected interest in the black power movement. Investigators say he had grown upse black lives matter group. There appears to be one gunman with no inspiration from any International Terrorist organization. Reporter new details about his time as an army reserves. A military lawyer who represented him, the army prematurely kimm kicked johnson out of afghanistan. The lawyer says a accuser requested a protective order. Military sources say despite the allegations johnson was not convicted of any criminal offense and received an Honorable Discharge in april of last year. His lawyer wasnt sure why, but said it could have happened because johnsons Service Contract expired. Investigators are piecing together johnsons digital trail after finding bomb making materials, ballistic vests and a personal journal of combat tactics at the home he shared with his mother. In downtown dallas, several city blocks remain shut down as authorities scour the crime scene where a peaceful protest turned into panic. I heard six shots. Reporter so far, investigators have found no formal ties between johnson and any violent extremist organization. Again, they believe he acted alone as he targeted white Police Officers. The five Police Officers, gunned down as they were guarding peaceful protests. We get more on that from joe fryer. Reporter officer Patrick Zamarripa lived serving. His mom and dad have no shortage of pride to accompany their sorrow. He was a good kid. Reporter from a young age, he knew he wanted to be a cop. Before he joined the Dallas Police force, he joined the navy. He served three years in iraq. Came back without a scratch. He lost his life here in the homeland by one of his own. Reporter when his family first heard news about the shooting thursday night, they were worried. He was crying and i said dont cry hes okay hell be okay. No. Because patrick would have already called me and said dad im okay. Reporter when you didnt hear from patrk, idea, right . Instantly i knew. I had a gut feeling. Most of my gut feelings are all right, and it was. Unfortunately. Reporter in all five officers lost their lives, senior Corporal Lorne ahrens who wife is a detective in the department. Michael smith spent nearly three decades on the force. Michael krol who moved to dallas to pursue a dream of becoming a policemen. Brent thompson who married a fellow officer a few years ago. And zamarripa married with a stepson. For her sake they hope dallas will build a memorial. Lincoln will say that was my daddy when she grows up. She will have at least something, thats the most important a temporary memorial continues to grow outside the Police Department in addition to the five Police Officers who were killed. Nine other people were injured. Including seven officers, most have been treated and released from the hospital. Thank you for that. President obama spoke out about this weeks violence again today in forceful remarks he called the dallas shooter a demented individual saying he doesnt represent the rest of the country. Most have been peaceful aimed at creating a dialogue between the police and communities. But a small number of protests have boiled over putting police on constant guard.
