wake county juries have not sent a defendant to death row in more than 8 years. we are getting our first look inside the damage to a popular raleigh landmark. the boylan bridge brew pub was forced to close after a wall collapse earlier this month. water pressure from a leaky sprinkler caused one wall to collapse, bringing down a portion of the roof as well. the entire basement was flooded; now it is a mess of mud and equipment that owner andrew leager is still hoping to salvage. he is working to get repairs underway, and hopes to reopen within 6 months . but admits that may not happen. andrew fixture in downtown raleigh with a full heated overlooking the raleigh skyline. its closure even if only temporary is a blow to this neighborhood and to the city. a mother and son found dead inside their rolesville home following a fire - died from strangulation. 39-year-old kristy bryan and her three- year-old son tyler died december 11th, after a fire at their home on roles saddle drive. an autopsy report released wednesday shows both had burns on more than 70- percent of their body and both were strangled with zip ties. bryan's death was ruled suicide - the report called her son's death a homicide. an angier woman is facing several charges after a crash involving four bicyclists. the state highway patrol filed charges against 50-year-old donnie williams thursday. troopers say she hit four bicyclists on massengill pond road. all of them were hurt; two seriously. the charges against williams include reckless driving and improper passing. she is due in court next month. of course the big story of the week was the weather.. storms raced through our area.. causing some major damage and knocking out power.. wral's laura leslie reviewed some of the damage from across the area. the worst of the damage was in granville county, near oxford. the national reporting... governor pat mccrory declared a weather service confirmed that a tornado touched down wednesday afternoon along huntsboro road. this home was destroyed you can see possessions and structural materials spilling out, - while a neighboring home was heavily damaged by a falling in the same area, this dairy barn was flattened by the storm, and a nearby greenhouse lost a lot of its roof. farm owner sears day brought in a generator to keep milking machines going. just down the road, a nearby farm also sustained heavy damage to silos and storage. to the south, in sampson county, crews worked to repair a gas station canopy that partially collapsed. in durham and chatham counties, most of the damage was caused by falling trees, like this pine tree down on a tennis court in bear creek. tarps were going up on roofs damaged by falling branches. emergency crews worked to clean up the debris and get power they received the all-clear. apex police have arrested a husband and wife team accused of robbing a bank - during severe storms. officers say aaron wagoner was arrested inside the wells fargo bank on beaver creek commons drive, after trying to commit a robbery. his wife, hannah wagoner, was arrested wednesday. no one was hurt during the robbery. in durham, a grassroots effort is underway to keep cyclists safe. they're proposing something called bicycle boulevards. cyclists would have priority over drivers in those areas. the design is rarely seen on the east coast. drivers would be diverted off bike priority roads every few blocks.. making those streets calmer for cyclists. the durham bicycle boulevard group says this will help less- experienced cyclists feel more comfortable. aaron lubeck3:14 "for me it's a matter of access. my son turns 10 next month and the network we have right now doesn't serve kids. something for confident riders and are great and we desperately need those in durham as well but the whole network needs to be a combination of greenways bike lanes and bike boulevards." :33 special street signs and bike-friendly barriers would be used to accomplish these birthdates and social security numbers. she knows their medical histories, when ey last visited a doctor. the mcallisters live in waxhaw, near charlotte. the moncols in raleigh. kat moncol knows all this after clicking on her family's health savings account -- and the mcallister family's information appeared! to her she could access their investment accounts tied to the hsa. kat moncol: at the time i could've manipulated that particular family's investment portfolio when i got into it. the account should've been under her kat as jack's spouse. and the moncols' daughter, kaitlin -- was listed as kat and jack's daughter. kat moncol: when i called bcbs about it, they wre unconcerned and said they had with it. blue cross blue shield said the health savings account is handled by a third party, health equity. moncol says when she contacted health equity based in utah, they told her it was a blue cross blue shield error. moncol then reached out to jack mcallister. jack mcallister: i was horrified that someone had all my kids social ecurity numbers, and birth dates, not to mention all the health scares they had over the past few months. it does not appear the information breach was a two way street. mcallister tried to call b-c-b-s -- only to be put on hold for hours. jack mcallister: i pay my bills and this is the response we get for paying high insurance rates? we can't even get customer service. extremely disappointing. then an explanation of benefits statement for katilin's recent doctor visit -- was sent to the mcallister's home in waxhaw. moncol says neither company has offered an explanation for the mixup. kat moncol: it's amazing how that one little breach could've devastated him financially had we not been the type of she says you should be vigilant about checking your insurance information-- and that your account should only be seen by you. renee chou, wral news, raleigh. we reached out to blue cross blue shield. a spokesman says --"we take the confidentiality and privacy of our members seriously." he also says the company is working with health equity to resolve the situation. wake county school leaders want an equal education for every student. board members discussed ways to level the playing field. they met for a two-day retreat this week. some ideas included using student assignments to balance diversity. small schools in
