But what lavrov, the Russian Foreign minister, said trump said which was that theyve investigated this for months and theres not any evidence, thats something the president has said many times so its quite believable. Though it would require democrats who for a long time said they dont like russia. They think russia is the reason hillary is not president , for them to accept what the Russian Foreign minister said, i dont think any american has reason to really believe that the russian government is the one telling the truth in this situation. And, ladies, both sides say they want to move on from the election meddling story. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson saying its, quote, an intractable disagreement but is moving on, is that actually doable . Well, theres theres an investigation going on, you know, youve got Robert Mueller investigating the whole issue. Youve got the senate talking about further sanctions against russia. I dont think theres any moving on happening and what was clear yesterday regardless of which side you believe is that there was no punishment talked about for russia. So moving on just says, well, whoever did it, were forgetting about it. Right, and weve got the 2018 midterm elections coming up. If russia is not on their best behavior, then this wont go away. There will be more calls for the u. S. To take further action. Lets turn now to china because the president is going to sit down with the chinese president xi jinping this morning. China is north koreas most important ally and trump has been hoping publicly that xi will pressure the koreans to stop Testing Nuclear weapons, but it does not appear to be working. Kristen, let me start with you. Do we expect progress out of this meeting today . China has expressed that they think theyre in a very tough position because their number one goal is stability. They do not want any kind of humanitarian or further economic crisis in north korea because that will just hurt them. So the interests of china are different than the interests of United States and our other allies in the region so its i am not optimistic that there are any really good options at this point in north korea. But secretary tillerson said yesterday, in fact, that if china did not cooperate, that there were really no other options meaning i guess military options is where you go and, of course, thats terrifying, but china is playing a very big role at the g20 and their trade deal is getting worked out thats leaving the United States out. The United States is really isolated in this meeting, and that could be the biggest problem down the road. Police say they are still investigating. Lawyers for both parties say they will examine the cars involved in the crash in order to obtain key data from the vehicles black boxes.
