it's definitely blustery out here this morning. winds are picking up and temperatures are 30 degrees colder than in time yesterday. or at least 20, 25 depending on your location, 30 degrees colder than yesterday's high, it was 80 degrees, it's the 5th time this week we hit 80 degrees. it felt like august, now we're back to reality. the changes begin this morning, we're seeing green on the radars. we're in the middle of a donut hole in philadelphia. that's why i'm able to stand out here without the umbrella. everybody seeing light rain especially across south jersey, where yellows are popping up. chads ford, moderate rain there. all this is pushing off to the east at 15 to 20 miles per hour. there's the motion for you, again it's kind of circulating in a counter clockwise fashion as the pulls away out to sea. now the winds are really starting to pick up here as that low begins to crank. it's done a number on our temperatures. 80 degrees was yesterday's high around 5:00 p.m. yesterday evening we were down to 63. now we're showing 51 in philadelphia. look at the poconos, 39 degrees and falling, 49 in the lehigh valley. and falling, trenton, 48 they are also falling. windchills in the same areas are actually down into the 20s and 30s. the poconos they have a windchill of 28 degrees, so a huge change from that 80-degree weather we saw yesterday. take a look at the air mass to the northwest. you can guess where this this is heading. 38 degrees that cold air mass is heading toward the delaware valley. that area of low pressure as that continues to deepen on strengthen, the winds will picking up later this afternoon and that filters all the cold air in. we could see air gusting to 30 miles per hour putting the windchills in the low to mid 40s be big cool down in store, 56 degrees, 64 tomorrow. not as sh. monday, 63 degrees feeling like fall, not too windy. the winds have just about stopped. that's good news for me. when i come back in 20 minutes we'll have the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast which features more rain next weekend. >> thank you. your time, 9:33 happening today, hillary clinton and donald trump rally supporters in pennsylvania, clinton will travel to philadelphia for rally tonight alongside running mate tim kaine she will speak at penn park in university city. she touted her plan for her campaign yesterday in the battleground state of ohio where trump leads in the polls. >> we'll invest in the middle class and invest in you and your families and produce enough good jobs with rising incomes. >> hillary clinton campaigns in pittsburgh this morning and takes a flight to philadelphia. >> fresh off his rally in bucks county last night, donald trump goes through gettysburg, later this morning he is expected to unrail parts of his atlantic should he win the white house. at that bucks county rally he discussed his economic plan. >> in a trump administration i can promise you we are going to start making things in america again, we are going to start making things in pennsylvania again. >> donald trump reiterated that he will sign off on the biggest tax cut since ronald reagan and said hillary clinton will raise taxes. pennsylvania senator pat toomey is enjoying support for his fight to remain in office. he was in northeast philadelphia where he picked up the endorsement of the fraternal order of police. katie mcginty was with vice president joe biden in wilks-berre. this is the most watched and most expensive senate race in the country as both parties fight for control of the senate. i would like to remind you, jim gardner will host the final live debate between the two pennsylvania senate race. sends us your questions for toomey and mcginty, you can use the #6abc action through social media or send an e-mail at join the action at 6abc.com. you can see the debate live at temple university starting at 7:00 p.m. on 6abc monday night. there's good news for over 100,000 students the strike is over for faculty members at 14 pennsylvania state universities. they have packed up their protest signs and heading back into the classrooms. "action news" reporter, jennette reyes has more on the end to the three day strike. >> i didn't know how long the strike was going to be, hearing that an agreement achieved i'm excited to get back to class. >> reporter: a collective sigh of relief after a tentative deal was reached on day 3 of the state system first walkout in 34 years. >> reporter: the strike disrupted classes for students at 14 state universities bringing the semester to a halt. hanging in the balance, financial aid greats and healthcare. >> i'm glad they came together. >> reporter: tom wolf helped both sides come to an agreement. among other things the agreement would provide faculty with pay increases and allow the state can mean important healthcare cost savings, withdrawn from the original proposal was a provision that would require temporary faculty to increase an dave class each semester. one thing students were concerned about, what impact the strike would have on homecoming which goes on today. we're told that the strike if it hadn't ended in time, the band would not be able to play. a person was killed trying to cross a burlington county road. police were called to the scene on the northbound lanes of route 73 at waverly rain i lane in maple shade, new jersey. the pedestrian died at the scene. the driver stopped nearby. so far there's no word if any charges will be filed. trenton police now investigating a late-night double shooting. one victim was shot in the chest, the other in the arm. this happened around 11:00 p.m. on the 400 block of monmouth avenue. both of the victims were rushed to hospital and listed in stable condition. police have not released a motive for the shooting. happening today, the public is invited to paint a tribute mural to honor fallen philadelphia firefighter lieutenant joyce craig, a mural for her will go up in the gym of lawncrest rec center. craig was the first female firefighter in philadelphia to die in the line of duty. she was killed battling a house fire back in 2014 in west oak lane. time 9:38 u.s. defense secretary ash carter made an unannounced visit to baghdad to meet with iraqi commanders he discussed the offense as the battle to retake mosul continues. carter's visit comes two days after a u.s. service member was killed outside mosul. this morning septa has reason to celebrate, crews have completed work on the crumb creek viaduct replacement project in delaware county. they unveiled the plaque to mark the 735-foot rebuilt bridge during 11 weeks of construction, shuttle buses transported people between there and the elwin station. temple play book is up next on "action news" saturday at 9:00. coach matt rhule talks about last night's bicker -- big win. plus, chris sowers has the day forecast, plus a peek at the week ahead on "action news" at 9:00 a.m. is coming right back. ♪ . >> reporter: welcome to a live happy winning temple football play book, alongside, exhausted coach matt rhule, that that wasn incredible win last night. >> it was great to do it on live tv. it was a great win. >> let's go over the highlights, shall we. who is going to win looking to knock off the 6-1 south florida team. armstead what a night. late in the third, the owls block the punt that was a huge play on special teams. gave the ball back with great field condition. at the perfect time, jihad thomas punched it in, he had two touchdowns. he ran for 319 yards. temple gets a statement win 46-30. take over the first place in aac east. you told us your teams are 14-2 if you run for 45 yards, make that 50-2. we're not the smartest guys, we figured we better run the football. we didn't know we would get to 319 yards. what a great night for him. >> 210 yards. >> he was special. he had big runs and nice tough hard nose physical 5, 6, 7-yard runs. we had a chance to talk to the game breaker after the night. >> i had a good game, but that's all credit to the line, they blocked fantastic tonight. everything i did good belongs to them, the holes were wide open, everybody could have ran through them. i credit the line. >> you were concerned about south florida quarterback. >> he is one of the best players in the country. >> he is illusive as you can see from some of the plays. you wanted to eliminate the play, but he did get a couple of in. how did you slow him down? it's definitely blustery out here this morning. winds are picking up and temperatures are 30 degrees colder than in time yesterday. or at least 20, 25 depending on your location, 30 degrees colder than yesterday's high, it was 80 degrees, it's the 5th time this week we hit 80 degrees. it felt like august, now we're back to reality. the changes begin this morning, we're seeing green on the radars. we're in the middle of a donut hole in philadelphia. that's why i'm able to stand out here without the umbrella. everybody seeing light rain especially across south jersey, where yellows are popping up. chads ford, moderate rain there. all this is pushing off to the east at 15 to 20 miles per hour. there's the motion for you, again it's kind of circulating in a counter clockwise fashion as the pulls away out to sea. now the winds are really starting to pick up here as that low begins to crank. it's done a number on our temperatures. 80 degrees was yesterday's high around 5:00 p.m. yesterday evening we were down to 63. now we're showing 51 in philadelphia. look at the poconos, 39 degrees and falling, 49 in the lehigh valley. and falling, trenton, 48 they are also falling. windchills in the same areas are actually down into the 20s and 30s. the poconos they have a windchill of 28 degrees, so a huge change from that 80-degree weather we saw yesterday. take a look at the air mass to the northwest. you can guess where this this is heading. 38 degrees that cold air mass is heading toward the delaware valley. that area of low pressure as that continues to deepen on strengthen, the winds will picking up later this afternoon and that filters all the cold air in. we could see air gusting to 30 miles per hour putting the windchills in the low to mid 40s be big cool down in store, 56 degrees, 64 tomorrow. not as sh. monday, 63 degrees feeling like fall, not too windy. the winds have just about stopped. that's good news for me. when i come back in 20 minutes we'll have the exclusive accuweather seven-day forecast which features more rain next weekend. >> thank you. your time, 9:33 happening today, hillary clinton and donald trump rally supporters in pennsylvania, clinton will travel to philadelphia for rally tonight alongside running mate tim kaine she will speak at penn park in university city. she touted her plan for her campaign yesterday in the battleground state of ohio where trump leads in the polls. >> we'll invest in the middle class and invest in you and your families and produce enough good jobs with rising incomes. >> hillary clinton campaigns in pittsburgh this morning and takes a flight to philadelphia. >> fresh off his rally in bucks county last night, donald trump goes through gettysburg, later this morning he is expected to unrail parts of his atlantic should he win the white house. at that bucks county rally he discussed his economic plan. >> in a trump administration i can promise you we are going to start making things in america again, we are going to start making things in pennsylvania again. >> donald trump reiterated that he will sign off on the biggest tax cut since ronald reagan and said hillary clinton will raise taxes. pennsylvania senator pat toomey is enjoying support for his fight to remain in office. he was in northeast philadelphia where he picked up the endorsement of the fraternal order of police. katie mcginty was with vice president joe biden in wilks-berre. this is the most watched and most expensive senate race in the country as both parties fight for control of the senate. i would like to remind you, jim gardner will host the final live debate between the two pennsylvania senate race. sends us your questions for toomey and mcginty, you can use the #6abc action through social media or send an e-mail at join the action at 6abc.com. you can see the debate live at temple university starting at 7:00 p.m. on 6abc monday night. there's good news for over 100,000 students the strike is over for faculty members at 14 pennsylvania state universities. they have packed up their protest signs and heading back into the classrooms. "action news" reporter, jennette reyes has more on the end to the three day strike. >> i didn't know how long the strike was going to be, hearing that an agreement achieved i'm excited to get back to class. >> reporter: a collective sigh of relief after a tentative deal was reached on day 3 of the state system first walkout in 34 years. >> reporter: the strike disrupted classes for students at 14 state universities bringing the semester to a halt. hanging in the balance, financial aid greats and healthcare. >> i'm glad they came together. >> reporter: tom wolf helped both sides come to an agreement. among other things the agreement would provide faculty with pay increases and allow the state can mean important healthcare cost savings, withdrawn from the original proposal was a provision that would require temporary faculty to increase an dave class each semester. one thing students were concerned about, what impact the strike would have on homecoming which goes on today. we're told that the strike if it hadn't ended in time, the band would not be able to play. a person was killed trying to cross a burlington county road. police were called to the scene on the northbound lanes of route 73 at waverly rain i lane in maple shade, new jersey. the pedestrian died at the scene. the driver stopped nearby. so far there's no word if any charges will be filed. trenton police now investigating a late-night double shooting. one victim was shot in the chest, the other in the arm. this happened around 11:00 p.m. on the 400 block of monmouth avenue. both of the victims were rushed to hospital and listed in stable condition. police have not released a motive for the shooting. happening today, the public is invited to paint a tribute mural to honor fallen philadelphia firefighter lieutenant joyce craig, a mural for her will go up in the gym of lawncrest rec center. craig was the first female firefighter in philadelphia to die in the line of duty. she was killed battling a house fire back in 2014 in west oak lane. time 9:38 u.s. defense secretary ash carter made an unannounced visit to baghdad to meet with iraqi commanders he discussed the offense as the battle to retake mosul continues. carter's visit comes two days after a u.s. service member was killed outside mosul. this morning septa has reason to celebrate, crews have completed work on the crumb creek viaduct replacement project in delaware county. they unveiled the plaque to mark the 735-foot rebuilt bridge during 11 weeks of construction, shuttle buses transported people between there and the elwin station. temple play book is up next on "action news" saturday at 9:00. coach matt rhule talks about last night's bicker -- big win. plus, chris sowers has the day forecast, plus a peek at the week ahead on "action news" at 9:00 a.m. is coming right back. ♪ . >> reporter: welcome to a live happy winning temple football play book, alongside, exhausted coach matt rhule, that that wasn incredible win last night. >> it was great to do it on live tv. it was a great win. >> let's go over the highlights, shall we. who is going to win looking to knock off the 6-1 south florida team. armstead what a night. late in the third, the owls block the punt that was a huge play on special teams. gave the ball back with great field condition. at the perfect time, jihad thomas punched it in, he had two touchdowns. he ran for 319 yards. temple gets a statement win 46-30. take over the first place in aac east. you told us your teams are 14-2 if you run for 45 yards, make that 50-2. we're not the smartest guys, we figured we better run the football. we didn't know we would get to 319 yards. what a great night for him. >> 210 yards. >> he was special. he had big runs and nice tough hard nose physical 5, 6, 7-yard runs. we had a chance to talk to the game breaker after the night. >> i had a good game, but that's all credit to the line, they blocked fantastic tonight. everything i did good belongs to them, the holes were wide open, everybody could have ran through them. i credit the line. >> you were concerned about south florida quarterback. >> he is one of the best players in the country. >> he is illusive as you can see from some of the plays. you wanted to eliminate the play, but he did get a couple of in. how did you slow him down?
