look for alternative transportation. however you need to keep in mind septa regional rails would not be affected. they are part of a different union. gunfire rang out at lincoln university, a private security guard was struck by a stray bullet. police say a bullet hit a van carrying private security officers who were hired to work during the university's homecoming festivities. one officer was hit in the arm. she was taken to christiana hospital in delaware where she underwent surgery. officials say students were safe and unharmed. so far there have been no arrests. a home goes up in flames early this morning in the frank formed section of philadelphia. investigators say the fire appears to be suspicious. the action cam at the scene of the 1300 block of dyer street. we are told that the home is vacant. fire officials found three separate fires inside the home and crews put them out quickly. there were no reports of injuries. earlier last night firefighters had to put out multiple small fires inside another vacant home three blocks away. a woman angry at her boyfriend faces arson charges. the 26-year-old woman is accused of setting fires inside a row home on the 4900 block of girard avenue yesterday arch. police believe she did it, balls her boyfriend owed her money and refused to pay her back. the row home was empty at the time, but spread to two other buildings nearby. a neighbor captured video of the flames on her cell phone. >> it was very, very scary, the smoke, you couldn't see, black smoke was billowing out the buildings abbey blowing down the street. >> the woman accused in all this, has not been identified. she had burns to her ankles she was treated at the hospital. philadelphia police caught a vandal red handed slashing tires if center city. officers were on routine patrol near the 1400 block when they saw a man standing next to the ford escape with a knife in hand. he swawkd to the suv and -- walked to the suv and stabbed the front tire. during that time a witness approached them and saying he saw him flatten the tires of other vehicles. >> a rapper song prompted protests and accusations right here in philadelphia just last night. protesters >> this morning a strike threat by septa worker as is looming over those who rely on the agency to get to work and school around the city. twu-234 that represent the subway bus and trolley drivers will vote whether to strike. bob brooks has more, this will impact a whole lot of people. what are you hearing? >> reporter: gray and nydia this will affect anybody who uses septa. we're talking about lots of people. i want to be clear this is a vote to strike at a later date not tomorrow. the reason we're here at the headquarters, members were asked to come to vote at 11:00 a.m. the reason for the potential strike, the current contract for the transit workers, union local 234 is expected to expire at the end of the month october 31. the strike would start november 1. some of the demands of the union are an increase from what pension is capped, 50,000 to $70,000. and healthcare and other things, as well. if the strike was to happen and still going on during the november 8 election, the union president said workers will not return to work for the voting day. septa has released a response to this vote today. i want to bring up a full screen graphic. it says both parties exchanged proposals on july 13 and continued to meet -- excuse me, i want to bring this up live, this is at 11:00 a.m., reporting live in philadelphia, bob brooks, channel 6 "action news." >> we'll see what happens. gunfire rang out at a home coming weekend at lincoln university. pennsylvania state police were at the shooting at 3:30 a.m. a bullet hit a van carrying private security officers hired to work during the home coming festivities. one officer was hit in the arm and taken to the christiana hospital where she underwent surgery. so far no arrests. a home goes up in flames early this morning in the frankford section of philadelphia. investigators say that fire appears to be suspicious. the action cam right there at that scene, the 1300 block of dyer street. the home was vacant. firefighters responded after 3:15 a.m., they found three separate fires inside the home. crews put them out quickly there were no injuries reported. earlier last night, firefighters had to put out multiple small fires inside another vacant home three blocks away. a woman angry at her boyfriend faces arson charges. investigators believe she started a fire that destroyed three row homes in west philadelphia. the 26-year-old woman is accused of setting fires inside a row home on the 4900 block of girard avenue just yesterday afternoon. police believe she did this because her boyfriend allegedly owed her money and refused to pay her back. the row home was empty at the time, but spread to two other buildings nearby. a neighbor captured video of the flames on her cell phone. >> it was very, very scary, the smoke was -- you couldn't see anything, black smoke was billowing out the door and blowing down the street. >> the woman involved in the case who has not been identified had burns to her ankles, she was treated at penn presbyterian hospital. philadelphia police say they caught a vandal red handed as he was slashing tires in center city. vehicles were vandalized at broad and jfk. five were owned by the city of philadelphia. officers were on routine patrol when they say they saw a man standing next to a ford with a knife in his hand. he walked to the front of suv and stabbed the front tire. the officers arrested him. during that time, the officers say a witness approached them and he saw the suspect flatten the tires of other vehicles. >> rapper's song has prompted protests in philadelphia. pro say it targets asian communities. >> reporter: rappers yz was performing, but beyond the door was a group of protesters anxious to see the rapper for a different reason. >> we want to get our message across. >> reporter: many in the chinese-american community are outraged about a two-year-old sock making the rounds in which the rapper is encouraging his fans to scope out chinese neighborhoods to burglarize the neighborhood. >> why are you promoting chinese families they don't believe in bank accounts. they have cash at home. >> nothing is good to glorify this kind of thing. going to do is travel due east. it will be over top of new england tomorrow morning, maybe a couple of showers in this part of the area. first thing tomorrow morning, not a big deal. most of the seven-day forecast with the exception of the thursday night and friday, look very nice and dry and very, very warm thanks to the southeastern ridge which sits right here. during the summer months we hear of the bermuda high. it's similar to the bermuda high, except it's not the bermuda high it's the southeastern ridge. it acts the same way. the outer edges extend west through philadelphia and the mid atlantic states. the cooler weather is out through here. it's difficult in a pattern like this to get the cooler weather east. this will be the dominant feature in our weather pattern over the next several days. this is all warm air up and down the east coast from texas east ward through the appalachians into the northeast. depending on the progress of the secondary cold front that will drop down by midweek, we have areas of high pressure, it's a nice finish to the weekend. tomorrow a beautiful start to the workweek feeling like august, sunshine, mixed with clouds and high temperatures up near 80 degrees. sun and clouds, warmer 73. winds are light out of the southwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour. you can see how the numbers will climb here, 1:00 p.m. approaching 70. we'll say 67. 3:00 p.m., 70. 5:00 p.m., 72. there's the high of 73. if you're driving south to fedex field to the eagles-redskins game. 73 degrees for the first quarter. by the 4th quarter, temperatures 76 ton, north carolina. the inventory of donated relief of supplies is growing on day one in lumberton township new jersey. they are being collected for their flood ravaged sister city in lumberton, north carolina. north carolina town. 425,000 is hurting. >> they need baby food, cleaning items. >> reporter: lumberton new jersey is responding because the north carolineians have come through for this town time and again when the ran rancocas crek hit the town in new jersey. there was flooding in 07 and 20011 and 2014. local flood victims remember and want to give back. >> i know what we're going through. we go lie buy there all the time when we're going to florida. there's a dire need it's a traumatic event. you can imagine being displaced from your home because of flood waters, it's
