"action news" reporter annie mccormack is live at the scene along 700 block of hartford road with what happened next, annie. >> reporter: and sarah, the prosecutor's office is saying that this is still an ongoing investigation, and they say that at this point there is still looking into all of the details. resident is telling police this is a case of self-defense and in this home invasion. investigators on the scene hours later combing through front lawn, roadway and property across the street from this house. the police says a home invasion turned deadly overnight. multiple police agencies responded to a residents 911 call at his home in the 700 block of hartford road. there he told police around 12:20 this morning two intruders broke in. sources say they were armed with bats. investigators say that the resident grabbed a knife killing one during a struggle and wounding another. detectives from the moorestown police department and burlington county prosecutor's office, are still investigating, if a man with stab wound that showed up to a local happies second intruder. >> it is pretty ill safe around here so this is not like moorestown. >> reporter: home stand alone on the block surrounded by new an active construction. some residents came out, curious to learn more details. >> they want to know what is going on fit is random, not random, hoist involved, who is not involved so we can take proper precautions for ourselves and our families. >> reporter: and this happened just after midnight but investigators just wrapped up the scene, about 20 minutes ago. the prosecutor's office did say earlier today that the scene is contained and no reason for the public to be alarmed. the name of the man killed has not been released, and also, police say that the residents was not injured. reporting live from moorestown annie mccormack for channel six "action news", sarah, back to you. we're following breaking news from philadelphia's kensington section where a 21 year-old man has been shot several times. it happened just before 4:00 p.m. in the 1800 block of e atlantic street. police arrived on the scene and found victim lying on the ground, he was rushed to temple university hospital and is in critical condition.
