greatest victory. meteorologist chris sowers has a check of the accuweather forecast. a lot of things happening outside today. >> reporter: weather isn't one of them. i'm forecasting a victory. yesterday was great. we'll do it all over again today. there's the view down in cape may. temperatures are comfortable and cool. temperatures were in the upper 40s in the poconos and down in the low 50s, it is chill in in some locations for august standards, but all in all, nice, quakertown, 55 degrees, manners creek, 57. tanners, 52. coatsville 58 and glassboro, 60 and woodbine 60 degrees. it should be an enjoyable day if you're heading to the beaches once again. high pressure firmly in control, that means another day of bright blue skies and low humidity levels. the forecast 76 degrees by 9:00 a.m., sunshine, by lunchtime, 85. a little bit warmer this afternoon, yesterday we topped out at 86. today we'll top out at 88 degrees, still a good deal of sunshine and slight increase in humidity later on, a little bit warmer than yesterday, but still a nice day. when i come back in just a bit we'll talk built heavy rains in the forecast -- talk about the heavy rains in the forecast and cooler by week's end. >> police are looking for gunman who they say tried take care of business. the shooter was called to whitiker and wyoming in feltonville to settle an argument half block away. he shot the intended target in the leg as that victim fled. the gunman kept firing. two cars coming down the street could not avoid turning into the barrage of bullets. a bullet hit a driver in the head. >> inside his car was his wife and two children, both girls age also 6 months and 6 years. they were in the back seat. thank god they were not hit. >> a bullet pierced the window of another car and through the neck of the back-seat passenger and the same bullet hit in the back seat, as well. all four victims are in the hospital. the bullets hit a home with a family inside. police say they have two people in custody, they are not suspects, but connected to the argument that set all this off. several witnesses are being questioned, detectives are looking for surveillance video of the shooting. over here at the "action news" big board this video came in overnight of a jet blue a-320 on fire in san juan puerto rico. 186 passengers were on board about to takeoff for new york city. the pilot noticed the problem and abort the the takeoff. everybody was off-boarded safely. "action news" spoke to one of the passengers. >> i was in the front row i looked out the left side of the plane, i is all the smoke coming out of the engine. some of the people in the cabin saw the smoke in the cabin. some people were saying they saw flames in the cabin. that's when people got up on their seats and began to scream and lose control. my hat off to the jet blue flight crew, they kept everybody calm. but at that point, the captain said to the plane, the impact of the explosion, the fire, the smoke, it was surreal. >> reporter: incredible, still pictures of the fire coming in this morning. federal investigators are now trying to figure out what sparked that fire, so far there are no educations this is in anyway linked to terrorism. >> president obama is in martha's vineyard on vacation, but he left he talked about america's new military be action in iraq. he said it will be a long term project that can not succeed unless the iraqis form a government capable of keeping its nation together. u.s. planes and drones launched four airstrikes. british officials estimate up to 150,000 people could be trapped on the mountain top. 56 children have been died of dehydration. >> in the middle east overnight talks to end the violence appear to be breaking down, palestinian negotiators are threating to quilt unless israel returns to the table. israeli negotiators say they will only return if rocket fire from gaza stops. >> overnight police in upstate new york say they questioned tony stewart who struck another driver kevin ward junior who was hurdled 50 feet and later died at the hospital. witnesses say he spun out and struck ward in the process, that incident happened after their cars collided on the track. police say stewart was cooperative and never arrested. the sheriff said the investigation is not criminal. a new construction project begins tonight on the blue route, crews will repair and resurface deteriorated areas of 476 in haverford and radnor township in delaware county. penndot said drivers will face weeknight lane closures from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. it will go until september. >> franklin field will be packed southern aerials get closer and closer to 60. you'll notice a slight increase in the humidity as we get toward the evening. satellite and radar composite we have a huge area of high pressure firmly in control that will force everything down to the southwest. until we get to our next system, i'll show you here. this is our next weather maker. this is a cold front, area of low pressure right there. it is cool, canadian front. this will slide through. as it pushes east the winds will shift out of the south/southwest. by tuesday evening, wednesday this gets over top of the delaware valley and starts to charge into that humid, sticky air and we start to see the heavy showers and thunderstorms, we'll skip over today and tomorrow, we'll focus on the next rainmaker, tuesday night into wednesday morning. tuesday, lots of clouds, there could showers out there, 2:00 a.m., cloudy skies, damp, tuesday evening we start to see the heavy downpours take over. 13469 forecast models are hinting at one to three inches of rain. that could create flooding in low-lying areas and pairs areas of poor drainage. poconos 78 degrees. plenty of sunshine up in the mountains. comfortable humidity stole an ambulance in reading. the vehicle was taken from the abraham lincoln hotel at 5th an washington. medics left it running while treating a patient inside. police say 47-year-old kevin fountain the vehicle crashed into little caesars on -- gonzales avenue. it's un-- on ogontz avenue. there's no word on why the driver lost control. an suv plowed into a build in west cape may. the red vehicle went through the front window of the animal outreach adoption center. firefighters rescued one person from the suv, it is unclear if anyone else was inside the building. neighbors in kensington showed this half-hour, police say they are questioning a person of interest in connection with murder of connie murray. murray's body was discovered in pennypack in northeast philadelphia tuesday morning. she went for a power walk on monday night and never returned home. investigators say she was strangled. again, a person of interest being questioned we're working to learn more about who that person wednesday morning and big cool down in the forecast. >> an 18-year-old girl is hit by a car and seriously hurt she was crossing route 73 in mount laurel around 2:00 a.m. the driver stopped the girl was rushed to cooper hospital with head injuries. no word on whether the driver might face charges. the investigation continues at this hour. president obama is outlining the timetable for the new texas man visiting philadelphia was punched and knocked to the ground unconscious after he defended a group of women getting harassed from a passing car. the victim is? stable condition with a to help in the future. it's ashame. >> reporter: saturday, local visits in the square recreation the to the crime always the busy busy -- as the busy bars and restaurants were closing. >> police believe several people were in the vehicle, but only one got out and punched the victim. the only description police have is of a black nissan with delaware plates. the victim is expected to remain in gives way to showers ahead of the cold front tuesday evening. 7:00 a.m., here's tuesday evening. here's what happens when we run this along. tuesday night, winds shifts off the the ocean and mixes with the air from the front and produces drenching downpours. this particular model has 3 inches in the poconos. trenton, 1-3/4. if this pans out and we see those amounts looks like we could have minor flooding in areas of poor drainage. julio is nowhere near hawaii. it will being passing five hundred miles to the northwestly. this poses no threat to the island of hawaii. there's iselle that's the system that slammed through a few days ago and produced the flooding problems in hawaii. 86 degrees in trenton. allentown, 8le. lancaster, 85. it will be a little bit warmer, you'll notice a slight increase in humidity, but it will be comfortable out there, lots of sunshine, 83 in dover, cape may, 78. for the jersey shore, ocean temperatures, 75. onliment sand we'll top out at 80 degrees
