>> no. he's going to lead himself to the bench. they are going to have a mediocre year. i know people think there's a succession plan. once bradford is finished and they can't go anywhere, they will go to carson. >> will he be on a short leash? >> i don't think he'll be on a short leash. i think the eighth or ninth game, you look at the team and say they are not a playoff team. they are not going to contend. we might as well see what the young kid does. i don't think keeping him in bubble wrap for the entire season is a good thing. >> that could be an issue here. the starting rookie quarterback, i'm sorry, not starting right now, he's going to be inactive. so, how much of an issue is that for you on game days that they are babying him at this point? >> i actually think it's a good thing. if he was active, you know how fans react. if bradford had a mediocre game, they would be screaming. i don't think peterson wants to deal with it. he'll take that burden. so, when wence gets the job, it's not a back up to bradford, they are moving on. >> there's nothing wence can do to win? >> i don't think so. he's going to look okay. he's going to get playing time. the plan is solid. the experienced back up. $7 million, by the way. they are not going to deactivate him. if the team looks like they can make the playoffs, they stay with bradford, they are not going to make the playoffs, they go to wence. >> the biggest issue may not be the quarterback situation but the receivers. other than ruben randall, they haven't brought anyone else in of significance. have they done enough?
