good afternoon sara bloomquist is off, in the news a south jersey restaurant causes a lockdown at a college campus. and former pennsylvania attorney general, kathleen kane, is asking for mercy at her sentencing next month. and the big story is the death investigation at a school for special needs. a teenager died after a struggle with staff members. annie mccormick is joining us live at the school in winfield heights. >> reporter: at this hour. philadelphia police are calling this a death investigation. they are not ruling this a homicide. there are several reasons why. they are trying to figure out if there are preexisting with this young student or just a tragic accident. philadelphia police and emergency crews responded to wordsworth academy after they launched an investigation after a 17-year-old resident died after an altercation with staff. the staff confronted the teen about a stolen ipad. after discovering the device in his room the teen became upset. they tried to subdue him and placed him in a head lock. they are waiting to see if the teen had preexisting conditions. according to the website, they are a nonprofit organization, trying to help children overcome behavioral and academic challenges. the school is releasing few details. >> they don't know who it is. >> faculty is not telling the students anything. >> no. >> although we are shocked and sadden by this event sts an on going investigation and unable to comment further at this time. at this hour police and the school are not releasing the identity of the student but sources tell "action news" that the 17-year-old is from central pennsylvania, lebanon. rick back to you. thank you. investigators determined the cause of a deadly early morning crash in feltonville. a 17-year-old girl and male passenger are both killed and police say that an 18-year-old driver went straight through a red light at front street. the teen's hyundai was hit, and both were treated for injuries but the two teen passengers died at the scene. there was a lockdown at cumberland county college in vineland, new jersey. police locked down the campus while they searched for an armed suspect. they are looking for the person that robbed a subway restaurant near the campus. the lock down was lifted after about an hour. accuweather, friday is finally here and a nice way to end the work week. a pretty picture out there. seeing sun but on the cool side with an occasional breeze, you'll want to bring a jacket if you head out tonight. melissa magee in for david murphy is at the big board with the latest conditions. >> reporter: hi there rick, happy friday. bright blue sky and ample sunshine. we are off to a good start and northerly winds on the cool side. 59 in philadelphia and up to 60 in wilmington and cape may 58 and same in beach haven. here is satellite 6 along with action radar it's dry and quiet across the mid-atlantic region after the cold front moved through and produced showers across the region and things dry out nicely as we close out the work week on this friday. it's bright and sunny later today. 4:00 p.m. temperature of 64. mostly sunny skies at 63. and lower 60s at 6:00 p.m., and temperature coming in at 57 and in fact tonight it will chill down quickly, a frost advisory is issued for easton and coatesville and the pine barrens of new jersey. this goes up from 1:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. and as you wake up on saturday morning some spots could dip down into the 30s, a good idea to protect your plants and sensitive vegetation. jackets are needed tonight, a comfortable weekend on the way and summer warmth on the way next week. we'll talk about the details in the full accuweather forecast. >> thank you. sentencing for kathleen kane was less than two week as way. lawyers working with the attorney general asked for a home confinement assessment seeking house arrest or probation. she is the primary care giver for her children and a none violence offender. donald trump is repeatedly denying new allegations of sexual assault and says he never even met the women making claims against him and is fighting back with legal action. kenneth moton joins us live from washington. good afternoon. >> reporter: good afternoon, what a week in the race for the white house. donald trump has taken a hit in the polls against hillary clinton, he will rally in north carolina in about an hour. we'll report he is expected to go on the attack. >> they will lie, lie, lie. >> the gop nominee is taking aim at "the new york times" and "people" magazine reports detailing his alleged unwanted advances on women. they did not report it at the time. >> did he actually kiss you? say far higher number that federal statistics indicate. it's a nonpartisan research organization. hurricane nicole has gone out to sea after blasting bermuda with high winds and rain. the eye missed the island by a few miles. it knocked down trees and power lines and 90% of the island lost power but most of the homes and other buildings are still standing. in north carolina thousands are asked to evacuate abuse of scenes like this. the rains from hurricane matthew caused flooding causing people to die. the estimated cost of all of this damage so far $18 billion. it's not over yet. many rivers are expected to crest this weekend so crews will continue working to shore up dams there. a violent case of road rage is underway in las vegas. cell phone video shows a man getting out of his car carrying a crowbar. she grabbed it and hit the man and he flipped her over and smashed the wind shield. video of this fight is viewed by a million people on facebook. police are using it to determine if any charges will eventually be filed. dramatic new video shows a michigan judge leaping from his spot on the bench to help restrain a defendant. the man was being disrespectful in court and fighting with an officer trying to handcuff him. >> i don't regret doing that, i hope that any judge would say if my court officer is in trouble i'll go do what i can. the suspect was in court for violating an order and now the judge gave him a year behind bars. president barack obama made history in pennsylvania by shaking hands with a robotic arm. what is note worthy about this is that the it's controlled by the mind of a paralyzed man. it's attached to nathan copeland's wheelchair and they tested copeland while blind folds and was able to identify which fingers were being touched 80% came through we are cooling down nicely on this friday. the action cam was outside earlier today. this morning in wilmington delaware you see a bright blue sky and not much in the way of cloud cover and you see a voter passing by there in the water. temperatures are certainly on the cool side this afternoon. 59 in philadelphia, and same in allentown and the lehigh valley and upper 50s for lancaster and reading and at the coast in cape may upper 50s peaking to 60 in wilmington and 58 in dover. here is satellite 6 along with action radar dry conditions right now, high pressure is situated to the north and allowing for the cool northerly winds to move into the delaware and lehigh valley. we stay rain free on our friday and same thing holds true into the weekend as well. here is the setup today a cloudless sky, the northerly wind at 5 to 10 miles per hour. high pressure is in control and temperature in philadelphia 55. and as we get into the start of the weekend more sunshine on the way a gorgeous one as the ridge of high pressure moves east by then and high temperature of 67 and continues to move to the east as we get into the second half of our weekend on sunday and temperatures are a touch milder then in the lower 70s. in case you want to do leaf peeping, fall foliage in full bloom or getting close to that. peaking in the interior sections of the northeast. moderate colors north and west of philadelphia. here in the suburbs low color along the i-95 corridor. we have essentially great color across much of the northeast. color is not injure thing? eagles "action news" at 12:30 continues with sara bloomquist, rick williams and david murphy. hello again, sara is off. here are the stories we are following now. two teenagers are killed in a collision along the roosevelt boulevard and we learned what happened moments before the crash. and president obama campaigned earlier today. and kelly ripa reveals who is closer to being one of her cohosts for the day. two people from our area found out if they made the cut. now the details, a collision overnight that killed two teenagers. it happened on the roosevelt boulevard at front street. katherine scott was following the investigation. >> both of the drivers survive but two teenage passengers lost their lives. and now authorities said what led up to the crash. >> i heard the impact, metal on metal. sterling scott rushed from the feltonville home at 12:30 a.m. the 18-year-old driver was trying to climb out of the vehicle. >> he said give me a hand and we helped him out. >> but a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man were trapped.
