good afternoon in the news a final good-bye to former governor, mario cuomo funeral services are now underway and people are lining up to pay their respects. but the big story on "action news" this noon is the picture outside. light snow continues to fall across the radiation and hit us right in the middle of the morning rush. >> it doesn't amount to much but the problem on the roads is happening. a chain reaction crash happened in delaware police officers were responding to a multi-car accident. this is one of at least two dozen crashes reported in newcastle county alone since the snow started to fall today. it was slow going for drivers on 141 in newport, rush hour traffic was at a crawl in both directions it was a similar scene on roadways across the area for what people say was a frustrating commute. we'll hear from katherine scott in king of prussia in a moment but first lets hear from karen rogers and david murphy david is tracking live double scan radar at the big board. >> we are looking at radar and our live image is doing a great job all morning long with heavier plumes of snow earlier and you can clearly see that some snow is developing holes in it and it's darker shades of gray and we won't get as much out of this as we did with the brighter bands earlier. chester county getting significant snowfall than is extending back into southern berks county and all of this is moving east by the way and south jersey slightly steadier snowfall and again breaking down and becoming less and less. the live view on stormtracker 6 live double scan look at this to the west of us really falling apart. some precipitation cells drop down and the air drys out a little bit and the air breaks them apart. i can't rule out additional snow showers but i think the worst is over at this point. having said that there is a winter advisory posted until 4:00, all the counties affected by this since yesterday. the possibility of 1 to 2 inches of snow and slick road conditions on secondary and side streets. my twitter followers tweeted in evidence of fun out there. tanya has her son in buck county enjoying one of his first snows in his memory. and christian you like to build a snowman. karen rogers joins us now and another part of the story is road conditions and the temperatures that are not pretty right now. if are you outside look how cold it, 12 in the poconos and 22 in philadelphia that is it. 22 in millville and temperatures staying in the 20s today. currently the wind is not too bad we are looking at a 22 miles per hour windchill and trenton only 14 degrees in millville and i was looking at the number a while ago and it felt like 16 degrees, the windchill was a factor at times when the snow was kicking up. we'll tell you what to expect. the snow is in the process of ending and temperatures stay in the 20s, it is going to be cold today well below the average high of 40 we'll see slick spots when the snow ends, we'll see that continue on the roads because it is so light and powdery and that could be an issue tomorrow as well. as we switch to our traffic cameras, you get a sense of what it looks like on southbound 202 at paoli pike and a disabilityled truck and here is the snow coming down but on the main highway we are looking better here on highways like 202. lets go to port richmond here and check out aramingo avenue and ann street. people are out there working on it and trying to shovel the snow and push it off the sidewalks. still a number of accidents newcastle county and chester in particular rick and sara we'll be she is bundled up in 202 and king of prussia in montgomery county. >> hi rick, how the conditions are really depends on where you are here in king of prussia we haven't heard too many complaints about the road conditions the snow is falling and has been for hours if you look at 202 you can see the road surface is wet and traffic is geting along just right and it's not a snow covered surface and some say they are happy to see snow this season but in moderation of course. >> amed was outside brushing off the snow on maiden lane in king of prussia, not something he to do a lot this season and after last winter he is grateful. >> if you compare it to last year it was very bad, real bad. a little bit of snow is nice. >> the snow was light all morning after it arrived at king of prussia at 6:15, on west dekalb pike the roads were wet but mainly clear the crews were out salting but there was still slippery spots people were advised to slow down. >> people don't know how to drive in the snow, they tap their brakes and their cars go stay off the brakes and snow is slow. >> on prince edwards street dennis was out shoveling his driveway, his complaint was not the snow but the bitter cold. >> it's cold, really cold, my hand is all red. >> vehicles are out from upper merions public works making the rounds and this belongs to a neighbor that left his lights on all night. the roads held up well. >> today they were not bad, they put brine down yesterday on all the roads it was pretty good. >> back here live on 202, crews made a number of passes here treating the roads and other than being wet this stretch looks clear and it's cold out here there is definitely the potential for icy conditions, the best thing to do is take it slow out there today. katherine scott channel 6
