There could be something popping through. A few neighborhoods just briefly later this morning. 57 degrees though right now and with light winds it feels pretty comfortable outside. 56 degrees in allentown. 60 currently in trenton. 57 in wilmington and up to 57 in cape may. As we roll through the day it is going to be mild. Now were not going to get into the 80s and we set some records yesterday. Were not talking that sort of warmth but its still going to be a pretty nice afternoon. By noon well be up to 71 with a good deal of clouds. Little bit before noon theres the possibility of a spotty shower not a big deal. By 3 oclock, 74, a high of 75 around 4 00 and you can see how the sunshine really comes back later in the day. This is your westbound traffic right here. This is the schuylkill. An accident involving a truck was blocking all lanes a minute ago as police pulled up. Now we can see theyve pushed it off to the righthand side. The right lane remains blocked and the shoulder at this point but watch out jammed you are on the schuylkill expressway from past Henderson Road to 202 where this accident is now off to the right instead of blocking all lanes but nonetheless, dealing with a jam this morning. You can just stick to south gulph road to avoid it altogether. In the meantime its a slow go on the schuylkill westbound as you head towards the turnpike. Youre dealing with this accident scene live in king of prussia. On the big picture, we have on the issues around the area and construction causing a problem. Lets go live right now. The action cam on the scene still this morning, 17th street is blocked between walnut and locust. You can see theyve got the tape up, the cones and the barriers. Thats because it was a sinkhole yesterday. They repaired it but now weve got that wet cement. So, its going to stay closed through the morning rush. In the meantime you can stick to 15th or 19th streets to get around that closure of 17th street there you see that truck pump and saying, oh, i cant get through. Scary moments for a group of Temple University students when they were robbed at g seems masked intruders found an unlocked door and barged in. One says he doesnt feel safe inside his home any more. It happened on the 1800 block of north bouvier street. They were robbed at gunpoint and knife point. The house is a few blocks from temples campus. A lot of students live around here. It was around 2 00 a. M. And Police Say Three armed men walked through the unlocked front door. They were Wearing Masks and all black clothing. One of the victims told me thought the front door was locked and he was hanging out with two friends. They had come back from a bar about a half hour, 45 minutes earlier. Two other roommates were upstairs in their rooms. Suddenly the door to the basement flung opened. The men told them to get to the ground. They kept asking him where the money was. They held knives the victims backs. At one point a gun to one of the victims head. The suspects ripped through the rooms taking iphones wallets cash keys a laptop video game consoles debit cards and then they fled. They told us when they were leaving like stay on the ground for 10 minutes. Otherwise were going to come and shoot you guys and like well stayed on the ground and like when i heard like the final door like which im go off i ran and pulled the fire alarm. We dont have any phones or anything to call anybody so we thats what we did. Reporter when the fire company came, the students explained to them what happened and then if the Police William called. Also breaking this morning, another terrifying incident. An elderly man wall tied was tid up during an armed Home Invasion in the bustleton section. It happened on the 9600 block of chapelcroft street at two 30 this morning. Police say a woman knocked on the victims door and when he opened it two men forced their way inside and tied up the 89yearold homeowner. The suspects made away made off with a safe containing cash jewelry and several guns. They also stole the homeowners 1985 baby blue cadillac. He may have been set up. We believe that there was some earlier contacts with the young female that may have been going in and out of the house. The have ick tim victim was able to untie himself and make his way over to a neighbors house. He was not seriously hurt. A delaware judge says hell rule tomorrow in the amy joynerfrancis trial. Closing arguments wrapped up yesterday. The 16yearold died following a fight at Howard High School of technology in wilmington. She had a rare and undiagnosed heart condition. The alleged 17yearold assailant is charged with criminally negligent homicide and conspiracy. The two other teens are charged with conspiracy. It is 6 06 and philadelphias top prosecutor could go on trial next month if a federal judge gets his way. District judge paul diamond rejected a routine bid by prosecutors who said they wanted more time to prepare. District attorney Seth Williams is facing several federal charges for bribery and extortion. The judge has tentatively ordered williams to be ready to go to trial by may 31st. Atlantic citys mayor is proposing the first tax cut in the decade in the middle of severe Financial Hardship an state takeover. The city will hold a public Budget Hearing next month on don guardians budget. Hes cutting municipal property taxes by 5 percent. The budget slashes Public Safety spending buying 8 million and administrative costs by another 5 million. Other savings come from private sizing trash pickup payroll and vehicle towing services. Were learning more about what may have caused that deadly shooting inside of a San Bernadino school. The man who opened fire killing his wife and an eightyearold student had accused his wife of infidelity. Cedric anderson and karen smith got married in january and separated last month. Police say when he failed to win her back he went to her special education classroom tuesday and fired 10 shots before taking his own life. Eightyearold Jonathan Martinez who was simply standing behind smith was caught in that crossfire. Smith had not told the school about her marital problems. And a Florida School is accused of punishing special needs students by putting them behind a piece of dry wall. The parents of a child with Cerebral Palsy are suing the duval county School District in jacksonville over claims of abuse. They say that their then threeyearold child was one of 120 students placed in what they called a discipline box. The full administration was aware of it. Teachers used it. Not a valid crisis intervention behavioral intervention technique. The School District released a statement saying it could not comment on pending litigation. You took what i have and then like the entire time they were just holding the knife to my back and then at one point the kid had a gun to my head. One of them tells me as soon as they heard that front door close he got up and pulled the fire alarm. When the fire company arrived they explained what happened and thats when police were called. I kept it in my hand brought it over and had my neighbor call the cops. The bomb unit determined the grenade was inactive and posed no danger. The eric frein trial moves forward after a pivotal day of testimony. Prosecutors played the defendants videotaped confession on the night of his capture frein told police i did this, no one else did and he added all i can say is im sorry. Frein is accused of an ambush on Pennsylvania State police. One trooper was killed another was injured. Frein could face the Death Penalty if hes convicted. Jury selection for the bill cosby trial will begin may 22nd in pittsburgh. Cosbys attorneys had argued for an outside jury pool due to the extensive publicity about the case in our area. Once a dozen jurors and six alternates are picked, they will come to norristown for the trial. That is set to begin on june 5th.
