63 degrees in philadelphia. 53 a little cooler in allentown but still pretty mild for this time of morning and this time of year. 57 degrees in reading. 59 currently in trenton. 56 in millville and mid 60s down the shore. Theres a bit of an issue with fog. Were down to a mile visibility in a couple of spots like millville and wilmington and a third of a mile in allentown. The worst of this will probably be in he low lying areas and valleys but just about anybody in those areas you see shaded in gray could see some of that. It looks like a bright and warm day building. 62 by 7 oclock. 10 oclock 69. By noon up to 78 and were going to hit a high of 86. If we hit that that will break the old record by 1 degree in philadelphia. Hey, by 6 oclock this evening walking the dog or doing something after work, 78 by 6 oclock. Another warm one for you tomorrow before the temperatures start to slide a little bit. Ill have all the details coming up in the exclusive accuweather 7day. Karen i hope people are enjoying things on the roads as well. They seem to be enjoying it as they drive on 95 at least no major complaints. Looking live past cottman this is southbound traffic headed towards center city. Its starting to get a little busy here approaching cottman. This is one of the first places to slow but over its an easy 14 minute ride from woodhaven to the vine. No major accidents through the region. As we look at the big picture we see speeds about 42 Miles Per Hour on i95 southbound at times but the schuylkill is looking great, 55 miles an hour, the blue route 55 miles an hour, so no big issues there. We do have some construction and this is in the bridesburg section. Theyve shut down Bridge Street near torresdale avenue. Stick to van kirk because of that construction going on today. Lets look outside on the ben franklin bridge. David mentioned a touch of fog in one or two spots. It doesnt look too bad here on the ben. Thats your westbound traffic. Just a few more people up and about coming into the city. Im 95 in Delaware County, fog, maybe a little more noticeable here but we can see i95 moving with no delay headed towards the airport, tam. Okay, thank you, karen. Developing right now, a deadly crash shut down a portion of the schuylkill for hours overnight in fairmount park. Police say the crash happened around 11 30 in the eastbound lanes at the montgomery drive exit. According to investigators a speeding driver was tossed from his car after hitting a barrier. A tractortrailer then rearended the empty car flipping it onto its roof. The driver who was ejected out of the suv was pronounced dead at that scene. At this point all lanes have reopened. Police evacuated a home in collingdale Delaware County because of some concerns about suspicious chemicals. Our Annie Mccormick is right there on the scene in the 1200 block of macdade boulevard with the very latest. Good morning, annie. Reporter good morning, tamala. And local police have been waiting for state police to arrive here to help them assess what type of chemicals they are and if they are something that is dangerous to the community. If you look behind me, you can see that state police have just arrived on the scene moments ago. Again, theyre waiting, Collingdale Police are waiting for them to determine what exactly theyre dealing with here. Well, this video from earlier police told all neighbors in this duplex to evacuate for safety reasons. There are several apartments inside the house. The neighbors seen here are not linked to the investigation. However, three people who live in the rear apartment were detained by police. Now, Police Arrived at this home in the 1200 block of macdade boulevard in collingdale around 1 20 this morning after an officer spotted an alleged shoplifter acting suspicious at a nearby cvs. That suspect ran into this home and when Police Arrived werent let inside to speak to the suspect they noticed a group of suspicious chemicals. When you have chemicals in a property in a closed confined area and the tenant that we took out said she had been smelling that strange smells lately, its enough to evacuate the house at this point. We dont believe its any imminent danger immediately explosivewise but we dont know. Thats why i guess from my experience its better to not touch anything, leave it as it is and have the experts come in. Reporter and back out here live those are the experts right now that they are waiting for again from Pennsylvania State police. They will head in there. Now, realize that collingdale is a Small Police Department so they dont have their own hazmat unit. Thats why they were waiting for state police and the three people inside the rear apartment where those suspicious chemicals were found right now are still in police custody. Things got heated in the faceoff between Pennsylvania Republican senator pat toomey an democratic challenger indicate he tea mcginty. The debate focused on healthcare and energy policy. The candidates were also asked about gun violence. Toomey touted crossing the aisle to work with west virginias democratic senator he joe manchin on legislation for stronger background checks. See, im a big believer in the second amendment. I think its a personal individual right and an important one at that. I just dont think theres a conflict between the seconds amendment and a three minute background check. It was the right thing to do for joe manchin to lead the charge and senator to lend his name to that legislation that closed background check loopholes. Thats why it was such a shame that when it only failed by a couple of votes, the senator said, the senate has spoken, lets move on. Like most republican candidates toomey was pressed on whether he supports donald trump. He refused say how hell be voting. Slow it down if you happen to encounter some of that this morning. Temperatures are already pretty mild for this time of year. 63 degrees in philadelphia. Thats actually not far off the average high for this date. 54 in allentown, 59 degrees in trenton, 59 in wilmington, 56 in millville and 64 in cape may. Satellite shows you a lack of any significant cloud cover so get those shades ready as you head out. Do keep in mind that early there could be some patchy fog and in some cases the visibility could drop quite a bit. Lehigh valley forecast mostly sunny. Your record in allentown today is 81. Were going to go 84 so it does look like thats one of many areas across the region where well see a record fall today. Down the shore also mostly sunny and pleasant, 74 degrees the high. Inland and some spots like Atlantic City airport a record high is possible today. And 86 is your high in philadelphia. The record is 85 so were going tore a record breaker there as well. Lots of sun and whether or not we get the record as tam mentioned its going to be unseasonably warm. Cool drinks a good idea and tshirts if youre going to be out there working in the yard or maybe if youre just plain old work takes you outside. Winds southwest at seven to 14 Miles Per Hour. And then overnight tonight it remains fairly mild. Mainly clear skies, 64 degrees is your low. Winds on the light side and lots of stars out tonight. Then tomorrow that ridge is still to our north. Were going start to see the backside of it get a little bit closer to us but were still going to squeeze out another warm day with a high of 85 degrees. Now, we have to allow for an isolated late shower late in the day or at night particularly north and west butter i think most of us are just going to stay dry tomorrow. It will be more of a sun and clouds mix. Your exclusive accuweather 7day forecast shows a cooldown after that. Today 86. Record warmth. Tomorrow 85 which will be another record in philadelphia. And then thursday clouds and sun. Might feel a little more humid, could be a couple of showers around, too, but well go for a high of 78 so not quite as warm. Now, if we get more sun than clouds and we manage to hit 80 that would tie another record on thursday, so he well still be in record territory thursday but then that ridge finally gets off the coast on friday and its breezy and cooler with a high of just 71 degrees and there could be a stray shower around although friday is not a washout. Saturday windy and cooler as the cooler air does return. A high of 62. And then sunday partly sunny and 63, breezy and definitely jacket and sweatshirt weather. Maybe under the injuries sees if youre headed to the union or the eagles contest. Good idea. Thanks, david. 6 11 now t and aeo. Computer glitch. Keeping it interesting Tamala Edwards. Lets look outside right now and check the schuylkill expressway. Eastbound traffic right here at spring garden, moving okay. Starting to see a little bit of volume build overnight eastbound was shut down in montgomery because of a fatal accident but everything opened and looking clear right now. We can see our travel times 14, 15 minute ride in both directions between the blue route and the vine so no major issue. No real fog out there right now either but we wander to check right now the fog report because we are get something he low visibilities in spots like 3mile visibility in millville seven in philadelphia,. 3 in allentown,. 3 in lancaster so in some areas youre traveling in some patchy dense fog so you need to be careful of that. We have an accident over here so look for this one coming in and we can see that its up here in upper merion. Flashing lights right back here Henderson Road at 202 a new accident just coming in. An accident in maple shade 73 northbound right at collins road near the turnpike and 295 not far from route 70. Kind of a busy area in marlton much watch for this new accident coming in. So, be careful of that as youre headed out but overall looking at the bug picture, weve got the blue route, schuylkill, i95 on the waze app nobody reporting any accidents through the region so a pretty good start to the day.
