to be colder. let's start you with satellite. we have a lack of any significant cloud cover out here so plenty of sunshine on the way and over in the east right now we're already seeing the skies getting a little bit bright. but the temperatures are colder than they've been in awhile. we're down to 39 in philadelphia. but a lot of spots like millville, allentown, reading and lancaster are actually down in the 20's. 26 degrees currently in allentown. and wilmington below freezing at 30. trenton is also fallen below freezing at 31. not much wind out here. the winds have fallen back as expected but it is cold and maybe you're digging some of that extra gear out of the closet where it's been sitting for a while. on the bus stop this morning between now and 8:00 in a lot of neighborhoods in the mid 30's, that's where you're going to be. and as we go through the day things do get better. 47 degrees by 11 o'clock. still kind of chill there will but by 1 o'clock 53 and by 3 o'clock, 58. a high today of 60 probably around 3:30 or 4:00 so lots of sun, less wind and it does get better later on. when i step inside matt pelman we'll talk about milder air coming in for the tomorrow and then the threat of a little rain. details coming up. >> all righty david pretty mild start to the morning on the roadways as well. as we look live at i-95 by allegheny avenue, little building southbound volume headed towards center city but so far it's not too bad. roads are nice and dry. you don't have any problems on the schuylkill expressway. vine street expressway or roosevelt boulevard, either. overnight resurfacing work that has started this week along north broad street by city hall has wrapped up for the morning so crews will return tonight at 7 o'clock. for now you're good to go there around city hall. we had a downed tree in ardmore just north of suburban square along glen road at saint georges road but that's been pushed out of the way so everything is reopened there. however in quakertown bucks county we're getting word of a building fire along pacific drive near pen a.m. drive. driving along california road this morning watch out for the emergency crews responding to that building fire. construction crews in new castle that were working overnight along 295 northbound near 95 have cleared out. everything's reopened there. and there are no issues on 95, 495 or 202 the concorde pike and if you're coming up 42 through camden and gloucester counties this morning, so far so good. still moving at a good clip in those northbound lanes headed toward 295 incident. >> the video shows the children acting out swearing spitting hitting other passengers and they found the parents then say they're not happy with what they see. >> "action news" reporter annie mccormick is live in olde city with more on the ugly ordeal and mom and dad's response. annie. >> reporter: and matt, those kids got on the market frankford line right here at second and market last week. it was soon after that one of the riders on the train took video of them cursing, spitting and spitting at one passenger. septa police wanted to see if the kids were safe and if they needed professional help. this is a video of a group of potty mouthed kids firing insults to a person recording them on the market frankford line last thursday. four boys and a girl traveling with a woman. the mother of two of the boys, eight and 10, says she's embarrassed. >> i just want to apologize to everybody that seen that video. i want to apologize to the man that went through that. >> reporter: yesterday "action news" aired unblurred video to help identify the kids. tips from "action news" helped police find the two families of the children. >> we want to get them help. this is not a case where it's 6:00 a.m. some day we're going to be busting down a door and dragging that many out in little handcuffs. it's just not going to happen. >> reporter: the father of the 11 and seven-year-old boys and the eight-year-old girl said he's not surprised about the kids' language but he is angry at the children for their behavior. he also blames the person recording them telling us his kids were egged on. >> you know, they not kids with silver spoons, you know, born. all they hear is curse words from inside the house through the whole street and everything. you know, and then seeing this stranger started enticing them recording them getting a kick off of seeing little kids being kids, you know, they don't put that on the news when he's calling the kids monkey and all that. that's racist. >> reporter: and it's not clear if septa police have interviewed the more than recorded the video. they have sat down with the parents that you saw on that video and the children and they have interviewed them. two of the children seen on the video are being treated for add. it's not clear what the next steps in the ongoing investigation are. reporting live in olde city, annie mccormick channel6 "action news." matt and tam. >> annie thank you for that. and police in mercer county new jersey are looking for two men who robbed, beat and tied up a 92-year-old woman. this happened on manor drive in ewing sometime between monday night and yesterday morning. investigators say the suspects broke into the woman's home while she was asleep and demand money. they tied her up with appliance cords and then dragged her down to the basement. a friend noticed that the door was opened and called police. they discovered that woman badly beaten but conscious. she's now in the hospital in guarded condition. neighbors say they can't imagine why anyone would hurt her. >> she's quiet. she keeps to herself. she used to belong to the garden club. >> one thing if you're going to rob somebody but there's reason to beat here. >> police have not released a description of the attackers and what if anything they made off with. >> a man accused of killing a woman stuffing her body in a recycling bins and opening fire on police officers is on trial. he's charged with abuse of a corporation. the woman's body was found on valentine's day in a recycling bin at an allentown apartment complex. police attempted to arrest the man few days later when they say he exchanged gunfire with. they a detective and the suspect were wounded. >> we have new information about a story that "action news" first told you about yesterday. the bethlehem area school district says water tested at northeast middle school contained lead levels that they say were well below federal standards. the district collected water samples after a lehigh university professor of environmental engineering tested the drinking water. he looked at water samples from bethlehem's northeast middle school, allentown's allen high school and union terrace elementary school. and his tests found that the lead levels were higher than the federal standards. the allentown school district is still waiting on their own test results. and investors are smiling and they hope this morning they'll have cause to keep the grin on their faces. maribel aber is live at the nasdaq in times square. she's got more on than we have been recently this morning so plan ahead for that. a lot of sunshine coming up over the horizon later on so you'll need your sunglasses and the temperatures are going to comfortably return later this afternoon. lots of sun in the lehigh valley and after starting in the 20's you'll wind up close to 60 for a high this afternoon. it will be pretty pleasant. down the shore, a high later on of 54 degrees, lots of sun, less wind than what we had yesterday and in philadelphia, a high of 60 degrees this afternoon after our chilly start. mostly sunny, not as windy. winds only running out of the south at about seven to 14 miles per hour so you don't have to worry about any of those strong gusts like we had yesterday. 46 degrees is the overnight low, a few clouds around tonight but not as cold as it was this past overnight and that's partly because of this southwest wind that's going to be kicking in. it won't be all that strong but it will be drawing milder air from the south and tomorrow beneath a warm front that southerly flow will continue to warm us up and after a high of 60 today, tomorrow we get up to 72. sun will give way to increasing clouds with this frontal boundary coming in from the west and that warm front still relatively close by. and at night we'll probably see some rain. there's even an outside possibility that you get a little spritz during the day but i think most of this is going to hold off until nighttime and future tracker6 is certainly buying into that idea. this is 6 o'clock at night. you can see how the clouds have filtered in tomorrow and as we head into the evening it will be cloudy. then later after about eight, 9, 10 o'clock you'll start to see a few showers around. might even see a thunderstorm pop up in a couple of spots and this unstable pattern continues in through the day on friday. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast, 60, sunshine today, not as windy, a cold start but not bad this afternoon. then tomorrow i was the way up to 72 with most of our rain holding off until the evening hours. and then maybe a thunderstorm pops up. on friday, we'll have rain at times. might see a little peek of through on friday and behind it we are breezy and cooler on saturday with a high of 60. clouds, some sunny breaks and maybe a spotty saturday shower. i certainly wouldn't cancel plans, though, because i think that's a real spotty shower. on saturday dry most of the time. then another shot of cooler air comes in on sunday on a pretty stiff wind. chilly, 47 degrees, clouds and sun. and back to 50 on quakertown. elsewhere in bucks county new bridge projects. county line road now shut down for work on the branch, the bridge over the branch of the nil little neshaminy creek there. watch out for that going until next friday. you could use street road or horsham road to get around it. in northampton township willow road is now shut down, the bridge over iron works creek that's closed through june so tanyard road or new road are alternates around that new work zone. matt. >> thank you matt. new on "action news," a jeep flipped from a bridge in alabama and got stuck in a tree sideways. the 50-year-old driver was rescued from the river bank below on a stretcher but later died at the hospital. witnesses think he fell out of the vehicle. police are still not sure how the jeep got suspended in that tree. it took three hours to hoist the vehicle back onto the bridge. >> also new, a texas teen is charged with allegedly taking a picture of one of her classmates using the bathroom and then posting that up on social media. police say 17-year-ol 17-year-oe barnhill invaded a fellow junior's privacy. the victim says barnhill snapped the lewd photo last week while the girl was using the restroom. then they say barnhill posted it on snapchat where it was shared by others. the district says barn little is no longer a student at the baytown school. she's expected in court later this horror stories about ear infections. a new study suggests that the number of ear infections in infants has dropped over the past couple of decades and the reasons may be linked to more people breastfeeding. the analysis found when babies were not breastfed they had a connection to more colds nose bacteria and ear infections but breastfeeding has become a far more common practice and thus into 23, the morning delay is starting to form but so far the travel time isn't too bad. however, close by here in lower providence getting word of a new crash along pawlings road right by 422 and by saint gabriel's law. that of course is why we call it the saint gabriel's curve along 422 because of the hall sitting a off to the side. speeds starting to slow on 422 eastbound. near quakertown police and fire crews are still on the scene of a working building fire on pacific drive near penn am drive. there's a crash though in the torresdale section of the city. if you're headed to holme elementary school this morning watch out for it along academy road at outlook avenue. and there you see the slow speeds. it's a slow outlook on 95 southbound, 19 miles per hour. this is what that looks like live. everybody hitting the brakes southbound entering the work zone at cottman. slows again farther south from allegheny to girard. and we're just starting to tap those brakes here as well on the roosevelt boulevard extension southbound as you approach the schuylkill expressway. the delay kind of comes and goes. right now doesn't look too bad. overall we're not off to a terrible start on this wednesday morning. tam. >> okay, thank you, matt. a shooting in west philadelphia has a 14-year-old fighting for his life this morning and police aren't even sure that the bullet he took was meant for him. "action news" reporter katherine scott is lie outside of police headquarters with the latest on this story. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam, that's right, that 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life. he remains in the hospital this morning in extremely critical condition and police say he was in surgery overnight and they're still trying to determine exactly what happened last night but investigators were out last night, they were expecting evidence and they determined that at least eight shots were fired from a semi-automatic weapon in west philadelphia last night. this happened just before 9:30. police say they responded to the reports of shots fired on the 200 block of north simpson street. but the victim, a 14-year-old boy, was found around 60th and vine. how he got to that second location remains under investigation. he was shot once in his back. he was taken to penn presbyterian hospital in very critical can condition. investigators are still trying to piece together what happened. >> right now we do not have a motive for the shooting. we don't have a description of a shooter or shooters. we're not even certain at this time if this 14-year-old victim was the intended target or if he was hit with a stray bullet. >> reporter: and southwest detectives were out at that scene last night. they were taking a look at nearby surveillance cameras to see if there was any footage around there that could help in this investigation. of course call southwest detectives if you have any tips. we are live at police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news." >> katherine, thank you for that. and new this morning a 26-year-old man is in surgery after taking three bullets to the head, chest and arm. philadelphia police believe he was shot inside his own home. they found evidence in the living room after following a trail of blood from the 800 block of cecil street in cobbs creek late last night. someone dropped off the victim at the hospital. he's now in critical condition. and police still don't know who pulled that trigger or why. >> also new from the cobbs creek section, a resident there tells authority that a relative was the one who start add fire on her front porch. the action cam was along south 60th street as firefighters surveyed the damage to the house. a woman called 911 just after midnight. she saw flames on her porch and feared she would be trapped inside. crews quickly put out the fire and the woman escaped unharmed. >> septa police have now identified five children seen behaving really badly in a viral video. officials circulated the march 24th recordings from the market frankford line in an effort to try to get the families involved help. the young children could be heard cursing and seen hitting passengers on the train. some of the children are being treated for attention deficit disorder. while one of the mothers ha has nothing but apology the father also puts blame on the person videotaping the children for egging them on and using what he calls rails assistants. >> the eventual republican presidential nominee may not be able to rely on the support. each of them seemed to second guess the party loyalty pledge they had made earlier in the race. at one point all agreed to back the gop choice and forego a run as an independent or a write in. donald trump's campaign manager has a may fourth court date in florida to answer charges that he roughed up a reporter. trump said yesterday that corey lewandowski might have been acting to defend him. the frontrunner told fox news that reporter michelle fields had something in her hand. this video shows lewandowski grabbing at fields while she was among a group of reporters walking near trump at an event earlier this month. hillary clinton campaigned in wisconsin and blamed trump for his campaign manager's behavior. the democratic frontrunner will be in new york this morning holding an event at the apollo theater in harlem. bernie sanders returns to wisconsin to host a town hall meeting in madison later today. the state's primary for both parties is on tuesday. >> time now to turn to dave murphy. take a look at what we all looking pretty good. 59 in allentown, 58 today in trenton, 58 in wilmington. these are fairly seasonable. maybe a degree or two above average. 60 degrees in reading and philadelphia, 56 in millville and then a little cooler next to that ocean matter cape may. tomorrow warm front off to the north, can cold front coming in from the west. high pressure on your hd wide screen right over there and all of these deals will combine to give us a southerly flow tonight and tomorrow afternoon we zoom to 72. clouds will increase with these frontal boundaries in the vicinity but it's going to be a nice afternoon high. now, there will be some shower activity building in ahead of that front but it looks like that very likely is not until tomorrow evening so during the day time look for clouds to increase but a nice high of 72 and then later at night, say, nine, 10, 11 o'clock tomorrow night we start to see some showers, maybe a thunderstorm mixed in and this unstable pattern glare and of course like every morning we expect delays here on 76. they are forming in the westbound lanes off the boulevard on tout to gladwyne. eastbound side should slows from the blue route into the conshohocken curve. hitting the breaks from this point into girard avenue. delays forming along 95 of course. southbound side from academy to cottman where speeds are right around 15 miles per hour. then you slow again from just past the betsy ross bridge into girard where it's 26. flyers in action tonight at 8 o'clock but right now traffic on 95 through south philadelphia is moving along pretty nicely up and over that girard point bridge. in the torresdale section of the city there's a crash this morning. it's along academy road at outlook avenue. if you take academy to get to holme elementary school watch out for that accident. no big issues over there on the roosevelt boulevard. you're just sitting through all the lights of course. we had an accident in lower providence along pawlings roads by 422 by saint gabriel's curve. sounds like that's in the process of clearing out. on 422 itself speeds are slowing many in the 20's now especially as you pass trooper road. new construction project. resurfacing work got started yesterday in chester county on a six-mile stretch of the route one oxford bypass between hopewell road and newark road. they're working mostly during the overnights but of course with any resurfacing project they usually tear up the road first so expect some bumpy conditions if you're traveling along the route one oxford bypass. if you're closer to the shore along the a.c. expressway overnight work in the eastbound lanes has cleared out but the ramp from the garden state parkway southbound to the expressway is closed through friday. use the ramps for the white horse pike or black horse pike instead. matt. >> thanks matt. a customer and clerk fought you have a would be robber at a gas station. rob phelps was talking to the manager when a man with a knife grabbed him from behind and demanded money. phelps said he made a split decision to fight back. >> holding it like this and the tip of the knife was just right between my eyes and at the attacker. the santander arena in downtown redding is beefing up security. 17 metal detectors will be stationed around the arraign in a at all four entrances. public venues worldwide are stepping the way that she responded to a homeless man who came in asking for money. she told the man she would give him money if he washed some dishes. he worked a full day and then came back the next day. the homeless man has his own dish washing station at the restaurant. she said she learned about work ethic from her family. >> clerical police took to social media to thank a family for a kind gesture on a somber day. four off duty officers traveled to maryland for officer jacai colson's viewing late last week. the delaware county native was killed outside of the prince george's county police station where he worked. the clerical officers later stopped at a baltimore restaurant where they met a family from lindenwold new jersey and the family paid for the officers' meals and wrote on the back of
