overall looking at plenty of sunshine today. 62 degrees by 7 o'clock. by 10 o'clock, 69 and then it's off to the races again. 78 degrees by noon and a record breaking high of 86 degrees. that will break the old record by one. if we hit it this afternoon and that should be around 3 o'clock. by 6 o'clock, back down to 78. still very warm. we got another one like this for you tomorrow before the temperatures start to dip a little bit, karen. i'll have details coming up in the seven day. >> if you're taking votes i like the summer weather. all right, let's look outside live at the schuylkill expressway. when i woke up at 2:00 a.m., second time in a he row, we had the schuylkill shut down. now you can see everything is moving just fine. cleared earlier. there was a terrible fatal accident schuylkill eastbound at montgomery drive right in this location but it is cleared. you can see all lanes opened. moving just fine out there right now. we only had one accident this morning in hatfield and it just cleared on 40 food road at clemens road. it was pretty good ride n let's check the big picture for you. blue route speeds in the 50's. schuylkill, no problem. 40's and 50's. how about i-95? we've got a live look here in delaware county. we had big problems with travel yesterday with fog in the area causing some flight issues at philadelphia international airport. a touch of fog in one or two spots but no major issue right now on i-95. you're looking good, matt and tam. >> thank you karen. we begin with breaking news. authorities evacuate several delaware county apartments as they investigate suspicious chemicals found in one of the units. "action news" reporter annie mccormick was first on the scene in collingdale and joins us live with what she knows right now. annie. >> reporter: and matt police have evacuated this entire home like you said that house is several apartments after discovering a group of suspicious chemicals together inside of there. now, collingdale police called the state police's chemist unit and are waiting for them to arrive to determine exactly what they're dealing with. take a look at this video. this is video from the scene when we got on here about an hour or two ago. police told all neighbors in this duplex to evacuate for safety reasons. there are several apartments inside the house. the neighbors seen here in the video taken their cat out are not linked to the investigation. however, three people who live in the rear apartment are now detained by police. police arrived to this home in the 1200 block of macdade boulevard in collingdale around 1:20 in the morning after an officer spotted an alleged shoplifter acting suspicious at a nearby cvs. that suspect ran into the home. when police arrived to speak to the suspect they noticed a group of suspicious chemicals. one neighbor even told police she noticed something in there recently. >> he saw what he believed to be making of some sort of chemicals or lab. he backed out. called me. i called on call cid detective supervisor. we conferred. and the house is sealed. the three occupants are at a police station and at this time we're waiting for the arrival of a chemist from the state police and the state police supervisor. >> reporter: and that neighbor telling police as she was being evacuated saying that she smelled something recently that just seemed to be off. now, the state police arrival is expected to be around 6:00 or 6:30. realize that collingdale is a small police department so they don't have their own hazmat unit. that is why they're waiting for the state police to respond here. for now reporting live in collingdale, annie mccormick, channel6 "action news. tam back to you. >> okay, we'll check in with you again shortly. thank you annie. developing overnight an argument leads to deadly gunfire in kensington. the vic testimony was killed left dying in the street on his birthday. "action news" reporter katherine scott is live at police headquarters with more on what happened here. good morning, katherine. >> reporter: good morning, tam. and detectives from here at the homicide division are speaking with witnesses including a friend of the victim a man shot and killed on his 30th birthday in kensington. the 911 call started coming in shortly before 11:30 last night. a man shot on the 700 block of east allegheny. when police arrived, they found the victim lying in the middle of the street. he had been shot in the head and back and was unresponsive. police rushed him to temple university hospital fromwhere he was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m. he had just turned 30 that day. witnesses told police he had been in a fight with other meniere by and police believe that's the motive for the shooting. police say the gunman had no shirt on and was wearing cutoff blue jean shorts. he took off on foot. there are several businesses that have surveillance cameras on that block and police have already viewed footage of the entire incident but so far they have not released that footage. we're live from police headquarters, katherine scott, channel6 "action news. tam. >> edge over two attacks, one involving bb pellets and another involving paintballs. one of those incidents temporarily cost man his eyesight. a man who only wants to be called j describes how he was hit which also aids and abbets the development of that fog but cloud cover-wise we really don't have much of that at all. the ridge of high pressure we have been waiting to come in is definitely arriving. you can see the cloud cover associated with the top of that ridgewell off to our north and down below it we'll get warm air surging up to philadelphia washington new york pittsburgh even toronto is going to be above average today in temperature. here next 12 hours looking pretty good. 62 degrees by 8 o'clock. gun some patchy fog early. then by 10 o'clock, 69 and by noon, already pushing up close to 80 and this afternoon we're going for a high of 86 degrees by 3 o'clock and that will be a new record for this date. beating the old one by 1 degree if we hit that 86. 81 degrees by 5 o'clock. so even as you're getting ready to leave the office and head home you're still going to be dealing with very mild temperatures. high temperatures up north pretty much the same as the i-95 corridor. 84 degrees in allentown, 85 in reading and wilmington, 84 in lancaster, 85 in trenton. and 78 degrees on the thermometer this afternoon in millville. down the shore low he to mid 70's from cape may up to ac. some records may fall today. all of these are the current records and in each case we're going tore high temperatures that are above these records. so, 85 looks like we'll drop that by about a degree this afternoon. allentown you'll probably wind up three or 4 degrees over that record high of in allentown as well this afternoon and trenton wilmington and the airport, a lot of those records kind of old, too. then tomorrow still more of the same. you've got that ridge starting to get closer to us. the front dropping down to the south but ahead of it we'll still get up to 85 degrees tomorrow. we're posting a slight chance of an isolated late shower late tomorrow or tomorrow night but i think most of you stay dry tomorrow. tropical satellite slows that you system that had a 20 percent chance of growing into a tropical system yesterday is now up to a 40 percent chance over to the east of the the bahamas. we'll keep our eyes on that over the neck couple days. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast 86 degrees, sunshine with record warmth this afternoon and tomorrow more record warmth with a high of 85. thursday clouds and sun may limit temperatures a little bit. we'll go for a high of 78 but if we do manage to get sunshine and 80, that would tie another record on thursday. however you can see how the numbers are dropping as we head toward the end of the week as that rip starts to pull away. on friday breezy and cooler 71 degrees a spotty stray shower possible and then on saturday, even cooler, a high of just 62 degrees with a chilly wind blowing, 63 cool and major concerns for you. how about the temperature? that's the big story. so, the average high for this date is 66. it's only 5:46, we're already at 62 degrees this morning so almost at our average now police are working on a new lead in a string of arsons in west philadelphia. the arsonist was caught on camera setting fire to a dumpster lined a mini mart at 56th and master streets. the same man is wanted for torching seven cars in a five and a half hour period early yesterday morning. no one was injured by the fires but the damage is extensive. >> new on "action news" a pricey canine caper caught on video thieves busted into a pet store in houston and hauled away six bull dog puppies. those pooches are worth $25,000 total. the pet store owner is pleading with the bandits to bring the pups back and not sell them. she says bulldogs have breathing issues and they're especially vulnerable if they're left in the heat. and a news anchor at our sister station in houston became the big story all because of a snake. he walked into his drive way in his bare feet and was bitten by a copper head snake. he immediately went to the hospital but being the dedicated journalist he is he began region. every now and then there could be some patchy fog but most of you are not experiencing that. slow it down if you happen to be among the minority that do see some fog this morning. 62 degrees currently in philadelphia. your dewpoint up there at 60 so those two numbers being close together does show you that the air is fairly saturated and fog certainly possible. winds are currently calm which also aids and abbets the development of that fog but cloud cover-wise we really don't have much of that at all. the ridge of high pressure we have been waiting to come in is definitely arriving. you can see the cloud cover associated with the top of that ridgewell off to our north and down below it we'll get warm air surging up to philadelphia washington new york pittsburgh even toronto is going to be above average today in temperature. here next 12 hours looking pretty good. 62 degrees by 8 o'clock. gun some patchy fog early. then by 10 o'clock, 69 and by noon, already pushing up close to 80 and this afternoon we're going for a high of 86 degrees by 3 o'clock and that will be a new record for this date. beating the old one by 1 degree if we hit that 86. 81 degrees by 5 o'clock. so even as you're getting ready to leave the office and head home you're still going to be dealing with very mild temperatures. high temperatures up north pretty much the same as the i-95 corridor. 84 degrees in allentown, 85 in reading and wilmington, 84 in lancaster, 85 in trenton. and 78 degrees on the thermometer this afternoon in millville. down the shore low he to mid 70's from cape may up to ac. some records may fall today. all of these are the current records and in each case we're going tore high temperatures that are above these records. so, 85 looks like we'll drop that by about a degree this afternoon. allentown you'll probably wind up three or 4 degrees over that record high of in allentown as well this afternoon and trenton wilmington and the airport, a lot of those records kind of old, too. then tomorrow still more of the same. you've got that ridge starting to get closer to us. the front dropping down to the south but ahead of it we'll still get up to 85 degrees tomorrow. we're posting a slight chance of an isolated late shower late tomorrow or tomorrow night but i think most of you stay dry tomorrow. tropical satellite slows that you system that had a 20 percent chance of growing into a tropical system yesterday is now up to a 40 percent chance over to the east of the the bahamas. we'll keep our eyes on that over the neck couple days. your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast 86 degrees, sunshine with record warmth this afternoon and tomorrow more record warmth with a high of 85. thursday clouds and sun may limit temperatures a little bit. we'll go for a high of 78 but if we do manage to get sunshine and 80, that would tie another record on thursday. however you can see how the numbers are dropping as we head toward the end of the week as that rip starts to pull away. on friday breezy and cooler 71 degrees a spotty stray shower possible and then on saturday, even cooler, a high of just 62 degrees with a chilly wind blowing, 63 cool and fort washington that it's not causing any problems. we have some construction happening in bridesburg. they've shut down bridge street near torresdale avenue. you'll have to stick to van kirk street if you're in bridesburg so watch for one. live on 42 that's your northbound traffic right now coming up from deptford or turnersville. looking pretty good. a touch of fog in this area but not any major concerns for you. how about the temperature? that's the big story. so, the average high for this date is 66. it's only 5:46, we're already at 62 degrees this morning so almost at our average now police are working on a new lead in a string of arsons in west philadelphia. the arsonist was caught on camera setting fire to a dumpster lined a mini mart at 56th and master streets. the same man is wanted for torching seven cars in a five and a half hour period early yesterday morning. no one was injured by the fires but the damage is extensive. >> new on "action news" a pricey canine caper caught on video thieves busted into a pet store in houston and hauled away six bull dog puppies. those pooches are worth $25,000 total. the pet store owner is pleading with the bandits to bring the pups back and not sell them. she says bulldogs have breathing issues and they're especially vulnerable if they're left in the heat. and a news anchor at our sister station in houston became the big story all because of a snake. he walked into his drive way in his bare feet and was bitten by a copper head snake. he immediately went to the hospital but being the dedicated journalist he is he began posting facebook live videos about his ordeal. >> there's the snake bit he me. we smashed it up but -- and right there where they've marked it is where i was bit and you can't tell by looking at this
