And also new, families of two students who were killed in a Violent School bus crash in texas are grieving their loss and the School District seems to have done very little to ease the blow. But perhaps equally disturbing is the way in which the two families found out about their daughters deaths. Now, one family is filing a wrongful death suit;. Lawsuit. 17yearold Mariah Johnson a senior at a local Houston High School and janisha chapman were on bus when it plunged off an overpass. Two other students were injured in the crash. The bus driver was also hurt. Investigators believe a car struck the front drivers side of the bus after swerving to avoid another vehicle. The bus then lurched to the right, struck a guardrail and toppled to the road below. Now, according to officials, a teacher from the district was driving the car that struck the bus. The Johnson Family believes the accident was preventable and is filing a lawsuit. Now, take a listen because what is so upsetting is that the Johnson Family said they found out about their daughters death through a generic voicemail. Two students were killed and two students and their bus driver were seriously injured this morning when an hisc school bus crashed at the loop and telephone road. This was going to be her senior year. She was a mommas baby and a daddys girl. Now, the parents said they he never received a phone call from the School District or condolences from anyone about their daughters death. Both families said their daughters were compassionate and kind and gentle girls who were enthusiastic about school and life. Right now the ntsb is investigating the cause of the accident. Investigators are trying to determine if cameras along the highway or nearby could reveal exactly how the accident happened. Fire crews in Northern California are gaining ground on two devastating wildfires. The first one called the valley fire is now 30 percent contained. Those flames, though, destroyed nearly 600 homes so far. Another 9,000 structures are still at risk of catching fire. The other fire in butte, california, is 40 percent contained and some nearby communities have lifted evacuation orders. Happening today, a man charged with killing one university of Virginia College student last year will be in court again on charges he killed another student as well. Jesse matthew was indicted yesterday for the death of morgan harrington. The Virginia Tech student was murdered in october of 2009.
